I designed and produced a hologram (https://imgur.com/a/VEa0i) with a three piece Viacoin 1 oz silver set (as inspired by Smoothie's XMR set) in mind.  I wanted to get some feedback to see if it would be appreciated enough to do a run. Peace, NLC

As LB suggested, my initial thought is 100, 50, 25. I think that these denominations open the door for a lot of viacoin holders.

A 3 coins set that needs to be loaded before shipment (or funds sent to load the coins before shipment and then loaded upon delivery).

The whole collectible scene seems so pro-VIA, I think I have to take a closer look at this project.

Definitely would be interested in buying a funded silver Lealana-like set! 100 - 50 - 25 VIA would be nice... :) A set of 200 - 100 - 50 VIA would be cool.  8)

I hear ya. It really depends on the price of via when these guys are ready to ship. Unfortunately, I have to lock down the denominations for the dies 6-8 weeks before they deliver... Which is like 3.5 years in crypto-time.

Just keep it lower then - 100/50/25 - do it like smoothie, buyer must fund coins etc etc.   The price of VIA has been fairly consistent for quite some time, I don't think it will be like XMR where it suddenly moons insanely, those circumstances were quite different with XMR ofc... Either way, I'm down for a set or two! :)

The short story is that I was planning to do the viacoin experiment with a professional coin artist that felt that her skill set would coalesce with my style. However, when I pitched the viacoin concept to Michelle (Eleutheria) she was very excited about it, had the time, and she’s a friend. So the viacoin will be a Eleutheria as well. This viacoin thing is somewhat of a test case- we’ll see where it goes.

There are plans for one more 5 oz in spring 2019- but truth be told, this project already puts it behind schedule. But we’re planning on establishing a more formal relationship.

Thanks for the details bud - Q: Are the viacoins going to be shiny silver or antiqued? I prefer shiny, you should try and give smoothie a run for his money at least! I see a big opportunity here for you myself! ;D

Honestly catz I haven't begun discussing what my production limitations are with the mint yet. I've seen some attractive options on both finishing styles that they've done. I think Smoothie's silver set is what you'd call Proof Like - and think its probably my preferred approach - but I'm going to go with what's best for the overall feel for the theme.

What I can say, is that I have high expectations for this design. Anything less than getting Romano in a bidding war with one of you jackals is a fucking failure.

Since its been asked over PM I am plan to produce 150 Sets

The serial numbers 001-150 are being applied to the glittered diagonal of the hologram if I didn't already mention it.

The name of the coin design is “Day Break”. The serials will be on the glittered bar for production, but I got a few random ones 😉

It’s with graphics right now. There’s an internal argument as to whether it can be pulled off on a 39mm footprint. I’m really going to push for it to accomplish the 3 coin 39mm set. The sculptor gets back from vacation in 2 weeks and he’s really the final say.

Once the sculpt is done, I’ll be getting a handful plated and take a poll on the best two plating schemes.

Three 1oz silver with precious metal plating on 2 of 3.

That’s the plan. Actually pulling it off will be a challenge. Its really important to me amd the brand to get these designs on something other than a 5 oz, 63.5mm diameter. I just hope my judgement doesn’t get too clouded.

3 x 1 oz silver rounds sounds fantastic.  I would love to see the face of the sculptor when you show them the sketch - as you mention it will be a challenge to get that much detail in 39mm.  I am very much looking forward to the progress. 

The plater is excited to play around with a few different processes. I’m hoping to be put into a situation where both proof-like and antiqued examples will be struck and be used for comparison purposes. If this is the case, I’ll put up a poll and get community feedback for what the production set will be.

The titling on front sculpt has not been integrated yet, I’m anticipating the die will be cut in 3-4 weeks. Back die is cut and pictures below for the prototypes. Once their struck, they’ll go to plating and the production triplets can be finalized.

Thanks for your patience guys. 10 prototypes were sent to the plater this week. 5 proof, 5 Antiqued. Here’s a picture of the proof- much better than the digital mockup IMO - the mint did a good job course correcting. Pictures, polls, reservations, and auctions soon!

That hologram looks sick. I'm not even someone that's into Viacoin, but I'm certainly someone that would be buying a full Viacoin set from you. Now, like many others, I am researching Viacoin because of this thread. Your designs have become a personal favorite of mine, and I won't be missing a release from now on. Count me in, The design is amazing (from what we've seen so far).

I'm not too late for reservations am I? Looks like it's going to be a quick-sell out with only 100 sets.

So just to clarify,

If you have previous sets of the NattyMind compilations with matching serial numbers, collectors won’t be able to match their previous sets serials to these coins?

Meaning if you had serial numbers 39, 74 or 3 for example, you can’t match your previous sets serials to keep them in line with the whole NattyMind series moving forward?

I hear you. Once everything becomes more clear I will reach out to all previous customers and of course matching previous sets is on the table. However, This does creates a conundrum and it’s hard for me determine to “correct” path forward for reservations.

It’s very important to me that all of the customers are happy with their purchase and appreciate the collectors mindset. I have to balance this with users like bill gator too, who are researching and investing in currencies/projects that otherwise would not have and also hardcove VIA supporters. This project is a litmus test to see if I’ll be adding more than the 5 Oz BTC/LTC pieces to the Nattymind portfolio.

One thing I am committed to is that I will always keep mintages low for these high end strikesI believe this to be invaluable to moving forward with this experiment.

It's cool that I get a little bit of consideration in the matter. Since it's such a low mintage and you want to distribute these as broadly as reasonably possible, in order to make the most people happy you could potentially set a claim-limit similar to a buy-limit; these could be calculated together or separately, depending on how you feel about it. People like myself would be happy with any # set, and so really the only thing I'm worried about in this context is there being at least one for me after all those with a previous stake claim their set. I'd hate to rob someone of their matching set, unless they already have multiple :P

Another option would be to produce non-numbered coins.
If mintage is limited to 100, then each coin is 1/100. No serials actually needed.
That’s an option too.

Something tells me that people would have a heavy preference towards their sets being individually numbered. I might be wrong about that, but this sounds more like a "last-resort" kind of option. For me personally, at least, numbered sets would be a big advantage over non-numbered sets regardless of how they are distributed.

IMO those of us who were early supporters and have matching numbers for Goddess and Samsara should at least be given the option to claim the same matching number for the Viacoin Edtion coins. I also think it would be a mistake not to serialize the Viacoin Edition coins. Not my call though.
