The biggest goal of IoTeX is to solve the problem that the Internet of things is difficult to go mainstream. The first is interoperability. Thanks I think he was referring to the concept of a more "democratic" implementation of the consensus mechanism implemented in IoTeX. Indeed, the IoTeX team developed their in-house DPoS consensus mechanism, which highly improves the original EOS algorithm by making it more democratic thanks to its self-scalable feature: the pool of delegated nodes voted by the community does scale accordingly with the size of the blockchain (to be more accurate, with the number and size of IoTeX subchains), not being limited by a small fixed number (21 in EOS for example). Not only that: the so called "Roll-DPoS" made in IoTeX adds instant finality to the transactions (definitely required in the IoT field), and all of that by supporting private transactions for those subchains that make use of this feature! They are improving Roll-DPoS consensus implementation and are continuing on the candidate pool and advanced crypto library integration.
