Title: I'm trying to write for devtome.com
Post by: ChrisCampbell on November 14, 2013, 06:50:12 PM
The instructions say I need to contact FuzzyBear.

New here. How do I send private messages? It just tells me I don't have access.

you are a newbie. you can't pm yet. i'm not sure what the rules are, but it's probably just the 4 hour rule for newbie jail -- make one post, wait 4 hours and you're out. not sure though. might be like 10 posts or something.

I suspect the process of making writers get an account here and go through the newbie process is a way of weeding out casual larkers, and leaving people who are more dedicated to making real content. Kind of a pain, but I can see how a system like Dev Tome would be flooded with random flotsam and jetsam otherwise. It probably also forces new users to get somewhat familiarized with the concept of cryptocurrency to reduce how many questions they have once they're actually writing for Dev Tome.

Not a bad idea... I'm trying to become a writer on Devtome too, and the instructions require quite a bit of work to follow... it's not made easy. It could very well be to weed out writers that would flood Devtome with poor content.

My own particular pet peeve is spelling & grammar... I'd love to correct some of the spelling errors on their site... it irks me to be reading along and see words misspelled. Years ago when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton - there was a small town newspaper that I actually just couldn't read ... I could count a dozen misspellings on just the front page ... and when I'm reading, a misspelling just jumps out at me, and forces me to stop the flow of reading.

Bitcoin Reviewer is actually hiring writers if you can't sign up for DevTome.

We pay $18-$40 for articles starting from 400 words.
