Peercoin Weekly Newsletter - Issue 3
November 14th

In case you missed the previous editions:

Issue 1

Introduction

Welcome to the official Peercoin newsletter! Please excuse the brevity, everyone is in full throttle mode at the moment.

Website Upgrades

If you haven't had a chance to view the new peercoin website look, please take a visit here:

http://peercoin.net/

We've been working diligently over the past week adding new resources to the project. A huge thanks goes out to Super3 and the rest of the web development team.

Bitcoin Conferences

Peercoin is confirmed to attend both the London and Las Vegas Bitcoin events in the next 2 months. We're excited about participating in the alt panel in London as well as having boots on the ground in Las Vegas. Our goal is to have representation at all the major events moving forward.

Merchant Services

Much of our energy is shifting toward payment processors and merchant services. Over the next few months you'll start seeing the Peercoin community ramp up for adding new merchants that accept Peercoin. We're currently wrapping up a payment processor proposal to leverage on November 18th. Thank you to everyone that's been taking time out of their busy schedule to assist us with this project.

Peercoin Rolodex

It's impossible for the same core volunpeers to be at every Bitcoin Conference around the world. In an effort to make things easier for people that want to volunteer to give a talk at one of the upcoming events, we are creating a Peercoin rolodex of slides and speeches. In order to scale, we need to make it incredibly easy for members to view all the different aspects of Peercoin and be able to deliver a great speech on short notice.

CryptoThrift

Our sister coin XPM is now supported on CryptoThrift, congrats. The Peercoin community will be contacting the admin to request the addition of PPC.

https://cryptothrift.com/

Coindesk

In case you missed it, Danny Bradbury wrote a detailed article around Peercoin (PPC):

Social Media

Forum - http://www.peercointalk.org
Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/Peercoin
Twitter - https://twitter.com/peercoinPPC

Volunpeers

We've spent an enormous amount of hours working on the volunpeer program. Not only helping people identify roles, but working with them 1-on-1 to get them moving in the right direction. Every day, we have new people that are owning their positions and doing great things for Peercoin. The goal is to have 100+ active members doing a little something each week in development, marketing, conferences, promos and tutorials.

The Peercoin community believes there's a place for anyone that wants to participate. Whether you are a developer, artist, writer, web designer or just someone that loves to spread the word, we would like to hear from you. Please take a few minutes to fill out this very short questionnaire below and tell us about yourself:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/J9RNLPH

We welcome all types of talent. Make history and join the growing community of Peercoin volunpeers.

The Future

As Peercoin continues to mature, you'll start to see a major shift on the day to day operations. Peercoin has already established itself as an alt currency leader in the crypto community, it's time to take the message to a much larger scale. Look for Peercoin in a few major publications in the coming months.

Summary

This has been another great week in the Peercoin community. As many of prepare for the craziness that comes with the holidays, I want to thank the entire community for the hard work and unwavering dedication.  Each of us are putting our heart into Peercoin and look forward to seeing a few new faces around the forum. If you would like to participate in the fun, please join us at:

Thanks a lot for the mention guys. Seeing the Peercoin/Primecoin community putting their hands together and working for the benefit of the coins confirms once again that adding XPM on cryptothrift was the right decision.

We've been in discussions today in that regard, and we were looking into future development plans and Peercoin was amongst the subjects. :)

Congrats again for the efforts, we wish you all the best on behalf of the cryptothrift team

Peercoin Weekly Newsletter - Issue 3
November 14th

Thanks again for your effort! Very nice to see Peercoin marching. People should notice, that Peercoin is currently shifting from one alltime high (in $) to another. As soon as BTC is correcting I assume Peercoin to get another alltime high in BTC (while the last was not long ago).

I think we should move away from the expression alt or altcoin. I think Peercoin is the by far better coin and will atleast step up with bitcoin in middle to long term. It's definitely on the right way and we should stop talking about it in this shabby term :)

lol peercoin is this made by the same guy who made xpm , he won't even reveal his actually name. I'm supposed to trust this over buying Litecoin with a great dev team who all reveal their full names.

Tell Satoshi we said hi. :) In code and community we trust.

I'm doubt this is a pro for LTC. Guess what will happen to them when cryptocoins are that big, that banksters or govs have a real interest to destroy them?

The anonymity of Sunny King is in fact a big strength of Peercoin. We have other people in the community which give Peercoin a face and a name.

@PeercoinEnthusiast: Good point, I'm still not sure wether Satoshi and Sunny King are the same person (while sunny said this is not true)

Yes, I'd rather invest in a coin where the developer or development team remains anonymous so there is no chance somebody will go after them. Just imagine Litecoin shooting up in value to threaten Bitcoins's reign. If that happens the developers will have enemies in governments as well as Bitcoin supporters. Sunny King and Satoshi have nothing to worry about right now because of their anonymity.

I think PeercoinEthusiast said it best "In code and community we trust".

Anyone who's been following PPC and Sunny King know the code checks out and the whole project is legitimate. And while there's probably advantages and disadvantages on both sides of having the head developer anonymous vs. known, personally I can dig Sunny's elusive/mysterious path, but that's just me  ;)

PPC is not an alt currency its a class currency,

that is a different type not just a derivative

As the PPC subforum mod of 8btc.com(in chinese), I will try to bring more information of PPC to the Chinese public.
BTW: 8btc.com is emerging as the most popular website in China in terms of btc-related information and being approached by increasing number of Chinese medias like http://www.yicai.com/, http://www.infzm.com/ . Soon columns on

Great to see the newsletter out!

Lots going on in Peercoin, just have to wait for Bitcoin to ease its upward march to get the BTC/PPC value more accurate.

Here's to another great week.

you do know PEE PEE coin has checkpointing and is not decentralized , so sunny king has full control. Put your trust in him .

Yes it has checkpointing for security reasons (PoW was to strong compared to PoS in the beginning of Peercoin). Sunny already has stated, that he is planning to remove this until the end of the year.

Another reason why Peercoin is going to go up :)
