This thread is to share information about NEO and NEP5 projects.
It has been my experience that it is often difficult to find NEP-5 projects in their early stages. I created this thread to help others who are interested in the NEO Ecosystem. Having these projects easily available will help with the growth of the entire NEO community.

To make new projects easier to find, I will update the first post (this one) with the Project and available information. This way projects will not get lost in the thread.

I welcome you to post any new projects not listed so and once confirmed I will share it in this post, giving credit to you.

I also welcome any feedback and opinions on any of these porjects as that will help each of us understand why we should or should not paticipate in the ICO.

When researching projects please make sure you not only look around their website and read the whitepaper. But join them in their social and support settings. For instance telegram or discord is where you will be able to ask questions and receive a response almost immediately.

It is always a good idea to see how the team and admins interact with the community. How complete their responses are, their tone, and how quickly they respond to support issues or questions. With that being said, during a bounty or an ICO it may take longer than usual so it is just as important to be patient. There may be several others ahead of you and they should respond in order.

I also want to point out the importance of always making sure you are accessing OFFICIAL websites. This is important for any blockchain or cryptocurrency related site. Once you have confirmed the official site, make sure you bookmark it so you always have it available!!!!

Recently there have been an influx of scammers which could potentially cause unsuspecting people to lose money.

More importantly, wallet downloads are especially susceptible to being downloaded from a scammer. This was recently the case with the NEON wallet, fortunately this was recognized quickly and shared with the community.

If a link or announcement is shared on twitter, or any other social channel, I always check several official channels to ensure the information is accurate. Check the official Twitter & Telegram channels and then go to the official site that you have bookmarked, to download any updates.

I will share links to official sites for wallets but please do your own due diligence. Although I know I have bookmarked the official sites, I encourage you to ensure the links are official.

This is a web wallet which gives you easy access to check your balance, claim gas, send/receive and check previous or pending transactions. Since it is a web wallet I only use it to check my balance by entering my address in the search bar. I only enter my Private Keys on wallets that I control. The above wallets I will use to make transactions and claim gas.

I started following the NEO ecosystem and sharing the information I have learned in order to provide a point of access. I spent many hours finding the proper channels to follow and official websites. I could have saved a lot of time had this information been available to me.

The most promising of future projects is Nos for sure. But its really hard to get in due to a strange politic of selling tokens to developers and code contributors only, I hope there will be an entrance through some investment pools ... This project can be compared with something like EOS, in the future. ;)

Great post! I didn't realize that some well known ICOs are actually run on NEO. I always assumed that high profile ICOs were always run on the Ethereum blockchain. In any case, this is good news for the NEO community and coin holders like us. It's about the right time for a pump if you ask me.

I believe that we should see more increases in NEO value soon given that the POS type of coin is becoming more popular daily.

What do you think the scam percentage will be in these ICO's? Most of the boards indicate a 90% scam ratio for ETH based ICOs.

NEO crypto currency is a coin that is popular every day in the stock market and makes money for its investors. until this time it was stable. a potent high and strong coin. it will rise even more in the future.

I had not realized myslef, until I started researching how many great projects were part of the NEO ecosystem. I hoped this post would help others. I am quite interested in the prospects of NEO and how it is developing as a coin in it's own right and also as a launch platform for child tokens on the NEP-5 protocols.

I'm also a long time investor in NEO and I too believe that it has got a lot of potentials to give a lot of profit to investors in a near and long-term. But your post gives highlights of this neo for the new investors to think to check this coin.


NEO is a just a platform to launch a project but after that, it all depends on project owners whether they can to deliver the product or want to scam investors. I'm not sure whether NEO will control these things. Correct me if my understanding is wrong.

The power of the neo project comes from the projects you put in the first post. There are very strong projects that use the infrastructure of NEO.

Which in my opinion takes the neo project one step further than other blockchain projects.

I'm a NEO fan but ETH will have a very big year and take #1 IMO. And it should.
However, NEO will establish itself as the #2 platform and it wouldn't surprise me if NEO takes a good 20% of the ICO market share from ETH.

As with any ICO it is hard to know for sure whether it is a scam. I always pay attention to the team through Telegram or other chats to see how active they are with the community. I look for transparency, and how they answer questions. If they avoid certain questions or do their best to provide an answer in a timely manner. From what I have seen so far, the teams within the neo ecosystem do a really good job of keeping the community updated and in most cases the ICOs Powered by NEO already have a working product so the chances of being scammed are far lower.

If you look at the NEP5 tokens you can see the growth from ICO and it doesnt take long to realize the ROI. I think the future of NEO and projects of the NEO ecosystem will be huge.

I suggest using the Switcheo exchange and investing in Switcheo, I believe it is just going to keep groing. I would Also suggest Spotcoin as an investment because of the benefits they will bring to blockchain. The ICO was postponed a week so join their telegram for announcement of Pre ICO date. Spotcoin has been very transparent and the founders, CEO and team are very active with the community.

DYOR and BUY NEO!!!! I honestly believe this is currently the best opportunity to see huge gains in your portfolio. Also join each bounty offered because I am holding the tokens received in bounties and airdrops and they are of actual value, unlike others that are worthless.

I do feel that NEO will take the ICO market just because of the transparency with the projects. I agree NEO and ETH will be pretty close but the potential for NEO is huge IMO. I just dont think many people realize all the great projects choosing the NEO ecosystem but once they do I think there will be a huge shift. It is pretty exciting to watch and be a part of. I never thought its that much already. Its never announced here in the forum and they also didn't promote much of what is going in the platform. There are few chinese projects in the forum which I thought were using NEO platform. The only I've read so far was GAGApay which is very active here in the forum.

I feel that NEO will have huge growth in the coming months as other projects see the potential of being part of the NEO ecosystem. There are alot of use cases for the projects coming off of NEO so it will be interesting to see how the market reacts. I think it is a great time to buy and hold NEO and invest in some of the stronger NEO powered projects.

I am grabbing as more neo from past three month in last bearish trend mostly i invested into neo . Still neo not being pumped but it will pumped for sure . Once the decentrelized exchange NEXO introduced then there will be lots of Airdrops. Eventually platform value increase . Recent big successful projects were ontology already in Market . Pikciochain also one of the successful ICO sold out all the coins.

I believe NEO is just getting started and will only continue to grow. The projects within the NEO ecosystem so far have offered value and many upcoming ICOs are bringing added value. It is interesting to see so many of the NEO powered projects and the growth after ICO.

I think we will see a huge shift to NEO and in the coming months will notice a spike in NEO.

It is quite obvious that NEO is one of the most popular cryptocurrencies out there primarily due to it being called Chinese ETH which in itself is a big deal since Ethereum is the best coin after Bitcoin according to me and many others. NEO has always maintained a top position in the CMC charts which you can check for yourselves and I had already bought few of these coins long back when it was initially introduced which I continue to HODL to this day. I will continue HODLING these coins because I believe in the development team behind NEO who passionately support it on a regular basis.

Community members eager to receive free tokens, have joined the telegram channel at a steady pace since Spotcoins’ initial announcement on Monday, of the anticipated airdrop.

The announcement caused confusion with some in the community about the airdrop registration. After registering with the Spotcoin website, a popup for the airdrop registration was expected immediately, some members expressed disappointment and felt misled to register with Spotcoin. I will admit, I too was confused until I went back and re-read the announcement. I realized my excitement kept me from reading the entire article.

Included in the Medium announcement, the photo below shows there are separate registration dates for each token, however, you have to be registered with Spotcoin to participate. To avoid congestion and delays in registering for the airdrop, Spotcoin provided an opportunity to sign up on their website early. In my opinion, this was a well thought out marketing plan, in order to make the process as smooth as possible.



I joined Spotcoins’ telegram channel when there were less than 100 members, so I have witnessed their interaction with the community from the beginning. The leaders and team are always putting the community first and any “marketing stunt” will always be in the best interests of the community.

Not only was Spotcoin taking care of their followers, but what a smooth move for supporting the Neo ecosystem. I anticipate high trading volume for RPX, SWH, QLC and EFX due to the airdrop requirement. I am interested to see how much volume this brings.

There was some concern with the required NEP5 token (RPX<QLC<SWH<EFX) being dumped within an hour of the snapshot. It has been my experience in the past that this is not an issue. There was mention of wanting to keep their NEP5 token on an exchange, although it is recommended to use a wallet that supports NEP5, you can use an exchange address. Please keep in mind, there is no guarantee you will receive your Spotcoin on an exchange because it is up to the exchange to support the airdrop or not. If you have a wallet that you are in control of and provide the NEO address, you will receive the NEP5 token, if you have successfully completed the requirements for participation.

Unlike many other airdropped tokens, those within the NEO ecosystem have a high probability of increased value once on an exchange. As seen with Ontology, the trading price has been as high as $13, LRN traded at up to $4 and within the last week other NEP5 tokens have had an increase up to 74%. With that being said, there should be no reason to doubt the value of Spotcoin given the benefit they intend to bring to the NEO ecosystem. Yes, NEX will most likely be a security and I am not real sure how that will work on a decentralized exchange. I had been following until I started using the Switcheo exchange as it is the first DEX on the NEO platform and it is very nice. I like the idea of the fiat on-ramp with the NEON exchange though so it will be interesting to see how things develope.

This is a feedback to the community: NEON is currently "lagging" due to the fact that someone is currently performing a DDoS attack into our public APIs. CoZ has always maintained and developed two open APIs: neon-db and neoscan, those have been used by all NEO wallets to develop their product, some currently have spin their own server of those as like all CoZ do this is open source.

Wallet developers: we will implement anti DDoS measures starting today and this can impact connectivity for the next two days. If you are using our APIs this is a good moment to spin your own servers.

Users: there is zero effect of this on the blockchain itself, this is a public service consumed by light wallets and maintained by CoZ, not related to block generation or performance of the network.

We are sorry that such jerks exists and we are implementing solutions.

The Spotcoin Airdrop for #RPX holders got off to a rough start due to DDOS attacks on the NEON API's. Several nodes have been down which has affected many users. Developers are currently implementing anti DDOS measures. Several announcements have been made to ensure there is no effect on the blockchain whatsoever.

Thanks for this thread! I've been hodling NEO since the Antshares days. One of my favorite pick-me-ups on a low day is to claim 20-30 gas and go trade them for more NEO. I've been doing this weekly or so for quite a while and you really can grow your NEO stack. I love that you don't need to keep a staking wallet open like with other coins.

NEO has a few problems--it's way too centralized right now, for example--but I trust that they will work this out in time. It's a good project. As someone who creates smart contracts and tokens in various projects, I will say that you really don't want to underestimate the power of robust programming languages like C# over new kludgy ones like Solidity. The devil is in the details, they say, and it's so very true with smart contracts. The little gotchas really slow down development on Solidity projects versus C#, C++, or Java.

I expect that NEO will be the preeminent coin for smart contracts where identity is burned-in to the protocol. I expect that EOS or TRX will come to rule for identity-agnostic smart contract projects. As a developer, I strongly feel that Gen-2 projects like Ethereum will eventually fade in favor of the more robust programming of Gen-3 blockchains. But it will take time.

Hi, Thank you for your post. I am not part of the NEO team nor am I a developer. I just really like what NEO is doing and through hours of research have found these projects running within the NEO ecosystem.

I think it is quite early still but from what I have noticed the ICO's within the ecosystem have great teams offering some really great benefits.

This thread is for projects within the NEo Ecosystem. Many people are not awaare of the many new projects so this is a place to find info on current and upcoming projects.

There have been many people that have found this thread useful as it can be difficult to keep up with the many new projects. I do this because I spent alot of time researching and realized others would probably appreciate, as I would have, having a place to locate these projects in one place.

I provide the links so that people can do their own research and welcome feedback and discussion about any NEP5 projects. I had first looked on the forum for NEP5 projects but did not find a thread that provided all NEP5 in one thread, they were rather scattered.

I think NEO is a good coin, i believe in it, i maybe even think about buyning it, though i do jot know yet. what do you think?

NEO isn't actually showing the promise that it once did. I remember right after the peak at the end of 2017, when the cryptocurrencies were starting to weaken and move into the red, NEO was still trading sideways for quite a while, resisting the FUD. But now it has crashed possibly more than most cryptocurrencies in terms of absolute % change. It definitely has some promise, but I'm not sure if even its technical capacity is enough to surge out from this mess.

Since the first of the year NEO has really shown more promise as they continue to improve development that attracts many new projects to join their ecosystem.

As you can see the many projects posted in this thread offer great benefits to blockchain tech and members of the cryptocurrency movement.

Mining Operations

In the past year, together with the NEO community, we accomplished the development of NEO 2.x. NEO 2.x provided essential infrastructure mechanics of the NEO Smart Economy. Now, it's time to look ahead. What's next? The short answer is NEO 3.0, of which development started in the last quarter (Q2 2018).

What is NEO 3.0? What are the key features of NEO 3.0? Today, NEO co-founder and core developer Erik Zhang shares with us the latest features and improvements of NEO 3.0.

 Erik Zhang:

NEO 3.0 will be an entirely new version of the NEO platform, built for large scale enterprise use cases. It will provide higher TPS and stability, expanded APIs for smart contracts, optimized economic and pricing models, and much more. Most importantly, we will entirely redesign NEO's core modules.

 1. Various Improvements

1.1. Increasing TPS

Increasing the TPS is important if we want to run large-scale distributed applications on NEO. In NEO 3.0, we will increase the TPS in the following ways:

    Refactor the code and core modules
    Optimize the network protocol
    Implement the feature manifest and permission system for NeoContract
    Prepare for dynamic sharding
    Detach state persistence and block persistence

 1.2. Bug fixes

In NEO 3.0, we will fix some known bugs and significantly improve system stability.

 2. Protocol

2.1. Adjusting the economic model

We designed a dual-token economic model for NEO, which has proven to be a very successful model. However, there were also problems: NEO was indivisible, and GAS could not be divided when paying for system fees (sys_fee). These issues were roadblocks for the utility of NEO and GAS tokens. To solve this problem, some adjustments to the economic model need to be applied. Some of the possible adjustments are:

    A small increase in the supply of gas every year
    Reward consensus nodes
    Make NEO divisible
    Allow gas to use the decimal part when being used for system fees

2.2. Adjusting the system pricing model

For developers, expensive system fees have become a primary concern. In NEO 3.0 we will make adjustments to the pricing model so that the cost of running and deploying smart contracts will be significantly cheaper.

 3. Smart Contract

3.1. Cross-platform smart contracts

Smart contracts should be able to be executed on different blockchain platforms, if they're made compatible with NEO 3.0. To achieve this, we need not only NeoVM support, but also unified smart contract APIs. In addition, we also provide an API for platform detection.

    System.Runtime.Platform

This allows the smart contract to detect the current platform at runtime.

3.2. Feature manifest and permission system

When a smart contract is deployed, it must explicitly declare the features and permissions it will use. When it is running, it will be limited by its declared list of features and permissions, and cannot make any behavior beyond the scope of the list.

3.3. Native contracts

Native contracts are smart contracts that are not run in a virtual machine. Instead, it's built directly into the blockchain code. Native contracts can still expose their script hashes to other contracts, so that other contracts can invoke them.

Native contracts can allow for the interaction with NEO and GAS (and all global assets) as NEP-5 tokens. This introduces a unified approach for sending and receiving assets in smart contracts.

3.4. Callback APIs

Create callback functions for smart contracts or SYSCALL, and allow other contracts to perform tasks through callback functions, which can work with iterators.

3.5. Other new APIs

We will add some new APIs to NEO 3.0. Some APIs that may be added:

    System.Account.IsStandard
    System.Runtime.GetEntryContract
    System.Runtime.GetCallingContract
    System.Runtime.GetExecutingContract
    System.Runtime.GetInvocationCounter
    System.Runtime.GetNotifications

 4. NeoVM

4.1. Fully decoupled

Currently, contract invocations are made with the APPCALL instruction (and the corresponding stack isolation instruction), and NeoVM will directly look for the target contract. This is unreasonable because the list of smart contracts on the blockchain should not be directly visible to NeoVM.

We need to create a new API to invoke contracts with SYSCALL, and discard the original APPCALL instructions. This would introduce two additional benefits:

    We do not need to do extra work to implement stack isolation, because invoking a new contract in SYSCALL will start a new virtual machine.
    We can easily implement native contracts.

 4.2. Support for global variables

Currently, NeoVM does not support global variables. The code with global variables will fail to compile. This is because NeoVM is a stack based virtual machine, with no storage methods for global variables. This makes it difficult to compile smart contracts written in high-level languages. To solve this problem, we need to add a global array for the virtual machine to store all the global variables. We also need to add a new opcode (“GLOBAL”) which pushes the global array to the evaluation stack. Then we can use PICKITEM and SETITEM to access global variables.

 
5. Conclusion

NEO will be reborn in 3.0 and will better serve the Smart Economy. In the future I will present more features of NEO 3.0, and publish a series of articles detailing technical points more in-depth.

NEO grows unnoticed IMO. Although the price fell so deep after mid-January a few months ago from $198 to $33 but now NEO such as returning to the starting price. I hope NEO developers continues to solidify its platform.

Yes, I strongly believe in the NEO that this coin is a very good coin and has great potential, its growth is also very good then it is suitable for investment, because now the price is relatively cheap then buy it is a good choice.

Depending to the kind of token that is working with NEO. I don't think they will airdrop NEO itself but the tokens under its flagship is possible, I think there are lots of them already. NEO is powerful enough, I can say its better and faster than ETH. Give neo some time and when China will change thier mind about blockchain projects and ICO, NEO will absolutely wipe the networks you thought big enough.

Are you aware that there are currently over 30 projects within the NEO ecosystem, with several more recently announced? I know it is often a concern whether projects will be sustainable as so many do not last. But I have noticed that most NEP5 projects offer real use case technology & platforms, many have an active product or at least Beta prior to or shortly after ICO is completed.

The key difference with NEP5 is the support of NEO whereas most other blockchains are absent from tokens launched on their platform. NEO is actively improving its technology with the many talented developers working diligently to provide a first class optimized Blockchain.

I am confident there will be a shift in popularity & sustainability to NEO which in turn will increase the value of NEO as well as NEP5. It is still early in the game but NEO has amazing motivation and potential.

I think NEO will soon surpass ETH, the NEO platform produces very good tokens, these reputable tokens and are not scam projects like the ETH platform.

I believe in the power of neo. NEO one of my favourite altcoin from top-20. this project has a lot of potential and looks quite promising. i think neo is a perfect choice for long term investment. Neo recently showed good results. Maybe even in the future NEO will also be able to compete with ETH.

I think it's worth investing - NEO solves a lot of issues that Ethereum does not solve. His usefulness at the moment is higher, which means that over time he will win a good market share. I consider NEO one of the most promising coins. The price is very competitive now. This coin has great recognition in the world and good liquidity.

NEO is growing at incredible speed. This growth is being driven by the value of the gadget and its reputation. The ability for NEO to gain support from the Chinese government and play a more active role in the Chinese economy is also a strong point. If this happens, NEO can grow faster than people expect.
However, Bitcoin will not give up the top spot easily. Bitcoin has the advantage of being the first encoded currency and has a large market share in the pre-coding market. Bitcoin has a good global brand and has become synonymous with the term "blockchain technology". Moreover, there are many Bitcoin ATMs operating in different countries. This helped Bitcoin hold the position pretty solid.
Despite this, NEO is still growing steadily and there is a strong support wave, which is a pretty tough battle for Bitcoin. However, with this rapid growth, it may soon take away the cash flow of other competitors such as Ethereum, Ripple and Bitcoin Cash. But in the end, the market will still be the deciding factor in how much the price can rise.

I think even now while a lot more projects running ICOs on NEO it's still more speculation on the price than adoption. Neo is still pretty bad at scalability and every ICO on NEO makes it's a lot of troubles for transactions.

NEO is not much powerful right no....it fell into the hole like all other alts that followed the real king Bitcoin, but something is telling me that NEO will recover really fast in the upcoming bullrun and even overcome its previous ATH. NEO still needs a lot of time to grow as it is too new and it hasn't show that much of reliability to the public, and it dropped a lot recently so it has to recover in that aspect too.

By the end of the year, the NEO network will be updated and decentralized. This will be a big step for the whole project.
