Hero members can be scammers too... Never trust 100 percent someone on the internet and in real life too.
There is also a comment on reddit about it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Vechain/comments/8d46nj/beware_of_scam_airdrop_vechain/
He is asking ETH... Don't participate.
Maybe an Hero member got hacked? Because who would use an Hero member account as it is now near impossible to become an Hero member at Bitcointalk?

Yep, hero members can be scammers too.

It's obviously that nobody is going to get the promised $450 bonuses, and it's just a ploy to get sign ups to their telegram channel.

Once you sign up to their telegram channel, apparently they try to scam you by telling you that you can send them ETH in return for VEN tokens in a "selfdrop": https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3343158.msg35003114#msg35003114. Basically, sending them money that you will never see again.

They're obviously not the official VEN team, nor is this airdrop official. Whole thread is just to attract more victims to their "airdrop". Never send funds to random people no matter what the purpose is, thinking that they will return with a much larger amount to you.

Look at that guy's trust--the same phrase "Very good businessman!" by two different users (on the same date and with no reference thread, no less), Noojna & VonSpass, who are most likely alt accounts.  I wouldn't trust this guy to take care of a dead cat.

Also, I'd suggest that if you think he's scamming, leave him a negative trust and don't just rely on DT members to do it.

It is a self moderated thread (http://archive.is/tFUwq). Plus, they ask for Eth before receiving an airdrop, obviously a scam. Another proof from VeChain official telegram (https://t.me/vechain_official_english) account:
