jes but i just thought about the american society, where you can pay your marketing campaign to win the president election.... why not have the rich having a lot of merit here.

bitcoin talk will also have its own currency like "binance" but considering how donations are beeing used to upgrade accounts, what would make it different. if now the merit would be open for sale.

if the mods feel alienated by this fun thread they can delete it. i dont mind.

Although it's not a currency or token but if you look around then you will see there are a lot of people gladly abusing (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3283721.msg34244273#msg34244273) it in fact they are selling merits.

PS: It does not make the merit system wrong. The forum needed the merit system to improve the quality of the contents.

This did make me giggle, it does make me wonder about the infamous "black market of merits".. Who would be silly enough to sell them, don't they see the similarity of the open ledger??

merit system will stil work somehow like 50-60%, with 40% being not earned but just bought. only alternative solution would be to give up this forum and move into another one.

but the core problem in the end will be agenda and oppinion driven meritifications, that arent in the interest of the bitcoiners that drive this forum

I have no idea what this means, It is amusing to see people tagged for merit offences to start talking about merit.

i mean that people get merit for things others oppose and vice verse, its called party or fraction development,

lobbyist groups will merit each other i can show you a precise example of this forum about that

Merits are priceless if you get your merits on the right way, you will never feel that feeling if you just buy your merits from an idiotic user.

I’m a bit surprised someone hasn’t created an altcoin and had it be distributed according to the merit recipients list.

Why would anybody pay money to merit recipients? result of doing that would be a permanent ban from this forum. people like OP. when they see a rich guy is a source, they think you were made a source because of your money. I have told the OP before, nobody is getting any merit from the forum in exchange of money.
