when i started trading coin i chosen huobi to trading,yesterday i wanted to send some coin wpr to exchange huobi but i sent wrong coin,i sent 700 CAT token~20 usd to huobi exchange,the real i don't think i will receive my token again,i think i will lose. i sent mail to huobi support team and they reply me,do you know how do they reply me? they want me pay fee to receive my token,the fee is 2ETH,it is high high price,i really can't think they want me pay fee:2eth. I am so sad and dispointed about huobi exchange,i disapointed about the way they support .today i sell all my coin on huobi exchange and change other exchange,i and my friend will never use huobi exchange,if they want fee 0.05-0.1 eth i am very happy althought i will pay fee to receive my token,i am so sad and disapointed HUOBI

Deal with it. It's your fault for being careless in the first place. They'd have to waste precious manpower to recover your funds manually. Nexttime spend an extra few seconds to doublecheck when trying to deposit funds. You're actually lucky you only lost $20; you could've potentially lost more amounts.

just for me to understand, you sent $ 20 in CAT token to huobi and it was not your intention, well from what I hear the exchange spend a lot of resources to fix these kind of problems this is one of the reasons why they ask you pay high fees to custiar the expenses of this operation.


if your amount was not too great to the point of not compensating in case you have to pay the fee they asked for then you will lose your money, but you can recover from that loss in the future... just pay more attention in the future to avoid such failures

yes,it is my fault,i accept,i don't care when i send token,but i want say: the way they support,they are big exchange,everyone use them exchange,i want every exchange want good service to compete with other exchange,i think they want this fee 2eth,it is very hight,i can't beleive,i think if they wang fee: 0.05-0.1 eth,it is very good, but....

You just need to understand that it's probably not easy to recover the funds you lost. It's probably just because their system doesn't support or have the feature to recover funds, hence they're charging you with a big amount. It doesn't automatically mean that they just want to profit off you. As of now Huobi has $1,593,847,123 trading volume. 2 ETH is nothing to them.

Consider this a $20 price you paid to learn your lesson. It's actually a really cheap price to pay, considering you will now learn to double and triple check when spending crypto. Bitcoin and its progeny were designed specifically so that YOU, the user and owner, are in full control of your funds. This means you are also the only one responsible for mistakes.

The fact that exchanges have to deal with so many issues of all the exact same nature means that you have not learnt to use this control properly. I do feel sorry in some way, but I remember when I was starting out. Seeing as I consider myself the extreme average user, I don't see why others shouldn't take the time to learn and be more careful with the most basic use of currency.

Huobi is a huge exchange, they have hundreds of altcoins and tokens wallet running at the same time.
Imagine having to find a specific address from a specific token just to find your coins and then having to import it to another wallet just to claim your lost coins.
It takes a lot of time just to do that and you're in luck because they wanted to recover it for you for a fee, other exchange will simply refuse to recover it ::)
Take it as a $20 lesson, always double check before sending coins, especially tokens as they are easily get mixed up with each other.

Could you provide a screenshot of the email or message describing the 2 eth fee? (so that everyone would know/see it)
I'd think this is the first time I saw an exchange allowing customers to get back their token w/ wrong address issue. Commonly, exchanges would tell you that they can't do a thing with it and it's gone forever.

On my personal experience, I didn't have yet any issue on huobi.pro.

This right here, when people are moving mass amounts of money in an unreversible way you'd think they'd take a second to ensure that they're sending it to the right place -- but you can't fix stupid, people will do what they do best. Take this as a lesson, so when you go to send a couple thousand in bitcoin (hopefully!) then you're going to send a test TX with $1 to confirm the addy is the right one and there is no malware on your computer.

You'll learn, it takes a couple painful costly lessons in life though.

Was supposed to say the same thing. They are now blaming the exchange because they dont like the fee? On the first place its his own carelessness is the reason why he do face such problem.It does only need commonsense for you to forget those $20 amount rather than on paying up 2 ETH. Who will be the dumb person who would do such thing? Next time it doesnt really cost you a leg on checking and securing out transactions to avoid such mistakes.

yes ,i wrong but i don't talk about my money i lose,my opion is service of exchange,exchange good=service good,now there are many exchange,the good exchange with good service good has many people trading,they are big exchage but they are always money,we have to pay fee to trading,withdrawn. if i trasnfer wrong token,it is okie,it is my wrong,but they want fee 2eth to back my token,it is so expensive,why do they do other wat,with cheap fee~0.05-0.1 eth,i think it is good serviec to many people can trust exchange

What I'm thinking is, will they still offer a 2 eth fee in returning higher amounts?
For ex. , an equal amount of 100btc (altcoin) have sent to a wrong address. Would they grant it at 2 eth or will they increase the fee?

That's the reason why I would like to see the original message/email from Huobi so that we, their users have references in the future.

Huobi makes me nervous. I've never had an overt issue but there've been all sorts of odd glitches and I don't really trust anywhere that can't be bothered to remove its Chinese from the supposedly English side.  

I've no idea how much work it is for them to retrieve this, but a customer may award them tens of thousands of dollars in fees over several years of trading. Charging them to rectify a mistake signals an underlying contempt to me.

It's too expensive for 700cat token($20) Maybe they are mistaken to say that you need to pay 2 ETH and maybe it's 0.02 fee to recover your token.

If they are asking for the big amount of fee just to recover your token that exchanges are unprofessional behavior.

I think much better to stop trading in their exchange site and forget about your loss amount and you can still recover it back by trading in other exchanges and now you learn and experience that there are exchanges are greedy so next time be careful.

I know you are a little bit sad because you made a mistake and its expensive to retrieve your coin but that's something we can't do about. Just move on bro and learn from your lessons the next time you make transaction make sure to double check before you press the send button. HUOBI have their rules and we have to follow it specially when we are the one who's at fault.
