Title: Bitcoin Wallet
Post by: manekari on November 17, 2013, 04:35:25 AM
Hi,

Which is good and preferable ?

Online wallet (blockchain) or desktop (multibit) ?

I heard many stories regarding BTC gets stolen from online accounts. And if i use multibit, is there any client for android ?

Thanks,
Regards,

Store them offline in a paper wallet. Blockchain has that option.

local storage is more safe. take that route... go with multibit, electrum, or armory.

Definitely blockchain if you want mobility for your coins but if you intend on cold storage, armory is the way to go.

I think blockchain is great, do paper wallets, setup watch only address in your blockchain wallet, and if you ever need to move around bitcoins once connected to the internet - easy to do so through their interface.

Coinbase also has a quick and easy paper wallet offline system easy for mobility as well when needed.

I think for someone who is definitely new to bitcoin, blockchain has a pretty easy way to about things. You don't need to keep one little bit of bitcoin in your blockchain wallet live, but you can setup paper wallet addresses and easily put them into the system when mobility is needed. I don't really think anyone should keep bitcoins in online wallets unless they have immediate plans for moving.
