Title: Blatantly selling Merit
Post by: Steamtyme on April 21, 2018, 06:43:27 PM
So this is likely just a scam, or they have an alt account with Merit to sell.

Either way here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3359467.0) is the link.

User already has red trust. Not sure if this is the kinda thing that gets a permaban/nuke.

Also reported to MODS.

Let me know if there is no need for this thread I'll lock it and let it drift into oblivion.

EDIT: Fixed spelling in title

1000 merits for 600usd? People would surely fall into that scam trap, as merit is important things for some people right now and the amount of money required for that 1000 merits is not too big. Thanks for finding this one, good job, and we need some mods or dt members for this. I summon thee.

That's really stupid. Why would anybody buy 1,000 merits, unless they had an account farm. I can just see a Junior getting 1,000 merits to jump to Legendary. Perhaps they give free activitty with it as well. :)

The activity comes in the follow up email while your waiting for the merit transfer. They hit you with the send more BTC and I'll boost your activity lol.

I'd like to see a brand new, no post, 1000 Merit ;D

I went to have a look at their site, and was immediately met by a MetaMask "Phishing Detector" warning page. I think that says it all really. Interact with at your own risk.

Unless you are a merit source, selling of merit is not moderated,
The user trying to sell merits already has negative trust. People looking to deal with him either don't care about getting scammed or are desperate. Either way, we should just move on.

Well seems to defeat the purpose of Merit, but I'll lock the thread up.
