Title: What are your favorite privacy coin?
Post by: Anarchist on April 21, 2018, 07:49:58 PM
I am interested to see what people are actually saying about Privacycoins. Not specifically talking about their value but the project itself

Privacy coins are the real deal and are going to be more and more popular. People will soon learn it by the hard way. ;D
Several coins are focusing on privacy these days and will be in the Top 30 when people will figure how they really need it.

Two projects I like and follow currently:

Zencash
Quote
ZenCash is the most resilient and censorship resistant privacy cryptocurrency blockchain and privacy coin. Our users can perform both private and anonymous, untraceable transactions. Powered by our Secure Nodes technology, our network traffic cannot be recognized and therefore cannot be blocked.
https://zencash.com/

What I like about Zencash is the fact this cryptocurrency is more than a crypto (ZenChat, ZenMedia,Zencash,Zenhide) and the community is awesome and helpful

Cloakcoin
Quote
Cloak provides a fast, fully private, secure, untraceable and user friendly transaction system with guaranteed fungibilty operating 100% decentralized on low-cost consumer hardware with very little energy consumption
What I like about Cloak is the team motivation, since 2014 the coin is still alive and the team keep to have the same motivation,

Verge
=>LOL and on the top of that I find the community pretty arrogant, the only strong point is their communication, but that doesn't fulfill what people are looking

Monero
Old school (with security flaws?)

My most beloved private coin is, of course, the leader of all of  private coins - Monero . I consider that for the moment it is the best anonymous coin

If you only consider privacy I can say that monero is not the best one, but just like bitcoin it is neither fast nor cheap in fee but it is seen as the best one.

Monero is obsolete if you really care about your privacy as "rayk" pointed out. Verge is not anonymous either and the community is filled with idiots and closed minds, it has been enough for me to stay away from it. Zencash is fantastic I do agree. I like their philosophy and the way they work. They also helped me to set up my nodes on a VPS and they were happy to help me with it, I was surprised to see such helpful people still exist without asking something back

ZCash sounds the best to me, and it also got some acknowledgements from Edward Snowden. This guy doesn't speak up unprepared.
I am curious to see whether BTC and ETH will catch up with the privacy features, though. I know there are proposals and it is already being worked on implementations.

It’s a common misconception that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are fully anonymous and untraceable. In fact, many blockchains only disguise users’ identities while leaving behind a public record of all transactions that have occurred on the blockchain.

Zcash: The Zcash that was born from the Zerocoin protocol is basically Bitcoin which can choose privacy. There is a fixed supply of 21 million coins (which sounds familiar) and Zcash allows senders, receivers, and sending amounts to be hidden despite the use of public blockchains. Researchers have published some evidence that some Zcash transactions can be de-anonymized, but for daily use, Zcash can still provide enough privacy for most people.

Monero has become an independent cryptocurrency, even for those who are not interested in privacy. Its privacy technology is highly regarded, and many deep-net markets accept monero.

Pivx: As an open source project, Pivx is another community-oriented privacy coin. It uses a Coinjoin-based mixing mechanism, but it operates in a decentralized manner, aided by a master node network.

Verge: XVG is another anonymous cryptocurrency that is designed for privacy-friendly networks such as Tor and I2P. The general consensus is that verge is not as private as some of its competitors, so don't believe it is relevant to your life. On the plus side, it has fast and low-cost transactions. The rest, unfortunately, is that there is not enough space here to delve into the inner workings of each privacy coin.

It has always been Monero for me,,, even if I see it at the bottom of your list! It has been criticized for security flaws, but hey, so was Bitcoin and it has not been exploited after 10 years now. Monero is classic. It has uses, it is accepted many places, and it is one of the most mature blockchains around. I cannot see much sense in holding anything else because I would not know where to use them. Verge I hold only for trading and speculating, would never dream to use it not even on PH now.

Many people today talk about Monero, I think that I will choose this project, because so many people have chosen Monero, I know that they can be much more than there is in my head, but still I will rely on the opinion of most people.

You are not listing Komodo. Their train hasn't gone fullspeed yet which anyone who is interested can ride with it. Not only that Komodo is also a platform whcih makes it a good token to invest with. Its very undervalued for now but its definitely have all the qualities to compete those high value privacy tokens.

I have always loved Monero and which to hold more of it. But it's unfortunate that I have only a little of it. I have been aiming to buy more of it and hold, but whenever other bitcoin and other coins are dipping, Monero seems not to be dipping. I guess it's because of it constant activities in the darkweb. Aside from Monero, I have also heard that Verge is also a good coin. I might probably consider it too.

ShadowCash is a currency under an ecosystem called ShadowProject. It aims to create a market that is open to everyone and that cannot be tracked and connected, meaning no one can know what you bought. No one can turn off this system. ShadowCash not only uses the ring signature, but also uses a double-key stealth address (that is, a stealth address is calculated into a new unused normal address, making the two addresses unreachable).

For me monero and lindacoin are looking like the best two options right now. They are very private and do not leave a trace of the transaction. It is what I was looking for when I first started investing in cryptos because I know that there is no way to track it which is my aim.

Nice
Then you should take a look at the two altcoins I mentioned in the original post( Zencash+Cloakcoin)
In term of privacy and technology, Zencash is by far better than Monero

zclassic seems right because ZClassic is working with btc to form a fork of private bitcoin and currently trading at $ 130, with a market valuation of about $ 442 million, and is ranked 46th of 1,519 coins in the crypto market.

of course Monero, he has Fungible characteristics. That is, each currency unit can be replaced by another unit. The units can not be distinguished specifically by other units, meaning they can not be traced from where and to whom the coin unit is transacted.

Same here. I also stopped following monero long time ago due to news about flaws in its blockchain network and transactions getting stuck and other stuff. There are many other privacy coins in the crypto market such as PIVX, Zcash, etc that are much more technically advanced and still hold low market cap value thus providing chance of investors to still earn good profit in long run. Though monero has some flaw, it’s highly used in dark web and is likely to grow in future.

Verge - this is a really good coin that can leap very high in the near future. Collaboration with the Pornhub was very popular with this coin. I believe that the project team works very fruitfully and can succeed.
I don’t think that the development team of verge works fruitfully as it seemed quite inactive to me in the past years. It just got a bit active recently and has been working well since then. Still according to me, verge is a hollow project and doesn’t hold much potential. Partnership with pornhub wasn’t really a big deal whereas they showed it like it was something huge and made their coin pump higher than it should have been which caused into a huge dump in its price once the partnership was announced. I still don’t completely trust verge XVG.

I think Verge has a chance to be an independent coin like Monero, the reason why Verge could be an alternative to Monero because Verge's price is still very cheap compared to Monero, but I admit Monero remains the best privacy coin for now.

Monero indeed is a good coin. Recently there was too much spike in the value of monero due to its increased demand and use in the dark web as an alternative for bitcoin when all the FUD, news and rules and regulations were surrounding bitcoin.

Monero is one of the most private and anonymous coins in the market and can even compete with bitcoin in the long run. Monero has been in the market for quite long and has made its way up in the market slowly and steadily. Monero definitely is a good investment, but wouldn’t provide much return in the future as it holds high market cap value already.

According to me, the best privacy coins in the market are ZCASH and PIVX. Both of these coins hold great potential and are highly secure and private. Information of transactions done through these coins is nearly impossible to get. Moreover these coins aren’t much popular yet and therefore hold low market cap value which means early investment is still possible and more profit can be earned considering long term holding. And verge according to me is just a hollow coins that shows itself as great on outside but is nothing much inside.

Zencash is a good coin in the privacy aspect. However, full anonymity in the network is not always good, if it is a question of  fraud, scam or even terrorism. I mean we all need anonymous and privacy for our safety but if it can be used for really big transactions then it can cost really big price for our future. Just an opinion. I know there are a lot of reach people who like this opportunities. But think about it as a citizens of our world.

But both still have some problems with speed and scalability. Here is the chance for new coins with the same privacy features.

Having come in contact with Veil, I chose to go for it apart form the ones you stated.
A careful study at the project really to an extent opened up the limitations of most privacy coins. That is, some offers privacy without anonymity, while some offers anonymity with little or no private transactions. But Veil on the other hand, offer full-time privacy and 100% anonymity, in addition to using advanced techs to ensure their goals is achieved. Staking is also possible.
Maybe for now it is my favourite privacy coin until there is advancements in others or a new one comes up.

Usage of DeepVault is merely happening, right? There are more projects aiming into the same idea. So, I don't think much good is there.
Regarding privacy, it has stealth address enabled. Nothing much is there. DeepSend is postponed times and times. I don't like this.

1. Monero: A privacy coin that uses Ring Confidential Transactions Technology.

2.Dash : Famous for its PrivateSend, a coin mixing technique that hides the identity of transactions for an extra fee.
 3. Veil
By incorporating both of these technologies, Veil are providing what might possibly be the most private cryptocurrency on the market.

I really preffer Zcash and Monero, i used first time Monero and now i also use both, with this two i worked and i not tried another privacy coins.

Monero is surely number one. It is probably one of the best cryptocurrencies for investments. It is really anonymous crypto, and if this feature is important for you, do not even hesitate to buy this altcoin.

It records data about the operation in the blockchain but makes it extremely difficult to identify them. Therefore, if 51% of the capacity is in the hands of a miner, then part of the Monero transactions can be deanonymized. Moreover, it is supposed that the next bull run will push Monero to rally very fast and reach 200 or even 300 dollars.
