Does he expect that Test Mastercoin will always hold a near zero value? Or, rather does he expect one day they will attain some 'little brother' status and be traded for value. I don't know if I should cling to mine or toss them about as if they are worthless. What gives?

For instance, I'd imagine that the "testnet" coins used by bitcoin devs to try out crazy stuff is probably a good analogy. They can undoubtedly be bought if you want large quantities, but they are frequently given away too.
