Title: How long for a transaction to show up as received? Post by: exze on August 02, 2011, 02:11:15 PM Finally got around to exchanging some $ for bitcoins. After the transfer went through on MtGox, I then sent the funds to my bitcoin # on the bitcoin program. That was yesterday and the transfer hasn't yet shown up. Just wondering if it takes a few days or if there's something else I need to do in order to receive the funds I sent myself.

I copy/pasted the bitcoin address so am pretty sure I didn't sent it to the wrong location.

Have you checked your client has already fetched the latest block in the blockchain (down in the right corner, next to connections, it shows "xxx blocks")? Match this with http://blockexplorer.com/q/getblockcount. If your client displays a number < getblockcount your client is probably still downloading the blockchain. If this number is < getblockcount and not increasing, check if your client is connected right.Thanks Title: Re: How long for a transaction to show up as received?
