Its just a bit risky for new coin or probably not known coin to mine as you may fall into a shitty coins with almost no value and like giving hashes into a waste.

what you could do is to look into a marketcap on a new coin, have a look on their project and whitepapers then decide

Bitcore recently got added to whattomine front page (TimeTravel10) and it's quite profitable on Nvidia. Also with all the great stuff coming later this year there is a good possibility of great returns.
I would still say it's quite an unknown coin.

Seen this timetravel10 algo too just recently. However whattomine.com displays it weird because although the revenue is higher $2+ compared to ETH at $1+, the profit indicated is lower. Does this mean that the timetravel10 algo is extremely power consuming? or is there just a bug with whattomine?

Just Stick with a popular & stable coin and hodl  :) It pays better in the long run. There is a reason why most of the other coins are called "shitcoins".

be careful if you want to mine and hold the new coin because not all the new coin making a profit and there in the exchange market although the profit context depends on each miner.

Most of unknown coins are unknown for a reason. They are often called shitcoins as they fail in most of the cases even when behind them is somewhat a good project.

So you should be careful which you choose. Musicoin is a coin which is in the mid table and is known to some people but also unknown to some other people. Since it is based on Music I think it is worh a try for about 2 weeks up to one month you will make enough coins to hold for the future.

~ hashrate is around 11-12 MH/sec compared to ~20-21 for ETH with a gtx 1060 6gb
