Title: What is protoshare and what is the difference with bitshare
Post by: o3u on November 18, 2013, 12:27:25 AM
I got asked a question about protoshare in PM, and decided i should share with everyone what i understand it to be.

neer.g's questions:

1. how do you acquire it

Answer:
Presently i am mining protoshare, as well as buying it and trading it. the exchanges are:
I don't read chinese, but figured it out by clicking on the right sections, this site is ideal for selling protoshares as the price is slightly higher.
btc38.com (http://btc38.com)

The bitshare forum:
http://bitsharestalk.org (http://bitsharestalk.org)
there is a buy/sell section, careful and watchout for scammers, i was scammed on my first transaction!
Lighthouse and favedesu are good escrows. If you trust me i can be your escrow for free as well, but some might consider me n00b and no trust :P up to you to decide.

this is an exchange that looks extremely sketchy, but i've legit traded over 2 BTC on it.

2. do you think it will be as big as mastercoin in the near future?
It's giving out bounties and talking about mastercoin, but unlike mastercoin is building it's own blockchain. There were a few problems with that at the begining and too many coins were mined early on, so availability dropped pretty low. I think this had a positive effect on the price and since then it's doubled several times to up to 0.023BTC, right now it's dropped, but then again it's only 8:30 in China ;)

So yes, in the longer term i think this is a great coin, i really hope they work together with mastercoin to find a solution to a distributed market, as one of the things a lot of dev's complain about concerning mastercoin is that it's bloating bloating the blockchain, and the exodus address makes it centralized.

Protoshare is the prototype for bitshare i believe, and bitshare should launch in january, so if that is correct then this marketing strategy of doing a prelaunch could be very profitable to early investors ;)

Hope this helped
