Aside from bitplay, it also gathered some supports from some exchanges like coinbase, bitstamp and more. That is why BCH leaps off and price got affected too quick. Though BCH I was inspired by bitcoin's whitepaper, still do not agree that bitcoin cash would overtake the place of bitcoin. It may possibly beat ethereum but not btc.
