I will use gox as reference - before this flash crash there were 118 000 bids down to $100 for BTC now there are 74 000 bids, and more getting pulled each minute that passes. After the crash attempt failed to break below $600, maybe a lot of people pulled their low bids because they realize now that the price will never go that low ever again.
