Title: How and where to cashout some of my bitcoins
Post by: Canaanite on November 19, 2013, 05:45:39 AM
Hey guys!
Although I'm a big bitcoin fan... I would like to cash-out a portion of my holdings

I have a verified mtgox account, coinbase account and I live in the U.S
(I don't know if it helps but I have Australian bank account as well)

I see that there are a lot of exchanges with different rates and I would like to know what restrictions they have? (can I withdraw the all amount from gox directly to my bank account in the U.S?) can I transfer the bitcoins to btcchina and ask for a wiretransfer?

Thanks for the help!

Cashing out with coinbase has been a breeze for me. Did it for the 200btc I sold a few weeks back.

Haven't used gox in over a year so have no idea. Just know that with coinbase it was easy breezy. Any restriction you have on your Gox account should show up on your withdraw page I imagine?

The only way to get your funds out of Gox at the moment in a finite (< 6 months+) timeframe is to pay the 5% manual processing fee for expedited withdrawal. Even this takes as long as a month. At current prices $100 is not so much more than 5%.

even if I use Non-US bank account?
If it is like this... why people actually use it as a trading platform?

If you try to cash out on Gox you will likely never even see that cash.

If you cash out on Coinbase, you will get your cash without issue.

If you're selling 25+ I'll buy them from you.
