Exactly as the topic is. If someone just handed you 25BTC for no freaking reason whatsoever, what would you do with it?

if i'm to be honest, i'd just.. donate 1, and then save the rest. my main goal with BTC is not to be super wealthy, bu to just never have to worry about money again. i'd like to go backpacking through southeast asia/europe/central and south america.. to be free, without worries.. that'd be the life.

I would post in this thread and tell everyone I don't have 25 BTC.

i'd buy a ton of fibre optic cable and run it all through my small town. then i would petition city councel to buy a 10 gbps uplink, and subsidize internet: everyone who wanted internet would pay $5/mo + hookup fee(for routers etc.)

people in my town would have more money to spend on other things instead of ridiculous mobile data fee's and phone/cable company shitty 120 dollar a month internet, and more people would have access to the internet, and maybe use it to better themselves / get out of this shithole town.

Keep 20BTC and use the rest for my faucet and investment stuff.

Why would you buy a dog, there are dogs everywhere, I've had quite a few, still have one, never paid for dogs...

I'm in the market for a sailboat, I'd probably buy a used trailer-sailer.  (used MacGregor 26M).

5BTC: Hundreds of paper wallets, ranging from 1 to 0.001 BTC.

5BTC: Cold storage wallet.

3BTC: NAS with 24 2TB drives in RAID, giving 40 terabytes of usable storage and allowing many drives to fail without losing a single byte of data.

3BTC: Home theater (TV (~1BTC), HTPC (~1BTC), audio/cables/etc (~1BTC)).

I would do with free 25 bitcoins what I do when I get some money: spend it on new comp and other stuff. Would preffer 50 bitcoins, I would buy new car  :P

Buy something that isn't taxed, donate the rest to all the free services that have helped over my time bitcoining.

I would leave 10 in cold storage, cash out 5 for other investments, use 5 to start a BTC business and distribute 5 to new members with their own ideas.

I'd hold and wait for a while, until the day i can buy a nice, big boat/ship with them in btc!  :)
(Then I'd sail the world around, to bad that is just a dream at the moment!)

Not specifically. I'm saying if you get that much free coin you should give back SOMEHOW. Ensuring the growth of bitcoin is an investment just like any other.

if someone gives me another 25btc to a group that i already own, i don't see how this will affect me. i am sure on buying a parcel in the near future, then start to build a own house.

with 25 bitcoins I would jump up and down yelling "fuck yeah, I'm wealthy" :D

I think I'd do the same thing as most people on here, I'd save it because of course we expect the value to rise over time.

I would publish a transaction showing the public key that would allow me to spend that amount, along with a Merkle tree of other transactions, wrapped in a low value double-sha256 hash.

It depends. Where I live (the middle of nowhere), housing can be really cheap, especially if you know where to look. Also, given that my mother is gradually losing her sight, a one-storey home would probably be best. Most of those tend to be small modular homes or mobile homes but some of them are very pretty and seem to suit a retired couple perfectly. I know.. it doesn't seem much but I just want my parents to be happy :)

I got up to 65 BTC from 0.1 BTC before, when the total value was something like £9,500. Withdrew £300 to my bank, spend £500 on random Bitcoin services, and spent £200 giving away Steam games. Then I gambled the rest and lost it, it's not a good feeling... But life goes on.

I'd divide them into 6 equal parts and add them to the 6 paper wallets with my other hoarded coins, one wallet for each of my nieces and nephews in case I drop dead before I need to sell any satoshis in my old age.

I'd have a new well drilled. I'm so tired of hauling water, but it looks like there is no end in sight to it.

Yeah, I'm small time, wish I had money to invest. Unfortunately everything goes to getting more self sufficient, or repairing broken things. Just had to replace a heater core and radiator, took the last of my meager BTC...then the well went dry, seems the original owners skimped and didn't locate the well in the best spot. Now I haul water about 1/4 mile and fill a tank because the oney just isn't there to drill a new 700 ft well :( but the dream of someday having water close keeps me going :) because at almost 50 yrs old, it will get harder each day.

You can, but it doesn't do so well...I think I received .00009 or so.
I'm going to start hitting up the faucets again...just like water, a little trickle helps :) I had stopped using faucets because I felt it was for the guys just getting started with bitcoin, and I didn't want to be a cause of depletion for them.
I also started requesting altcoins in the giveaway threads, but after more reflection on that today, I don't think I will continue that, because if I don't really support the coin fully, I'd feel like a "cheat", know what I mean? I don't think it's fair to the givers, or to other receivers. Thanks

That's cool. Your parents looked out for you for years, it's nice to see them have it returned! I bet they would appreciate it.

I would keep half and for the other one I would buy some land and plant fruits.

I'll save them for a while till they grow up. Then donate them to an animal rights charity :)
