Hi all,

I'm starting Datacoin Logo contest.
Datacoin is a very promising cryptocurrency which primary idea is creating decentralized data storage. So everyone can post some small (encrypted if you want) files or links to blockchain, so it can be stored forever. It has transaction fees and PoW, and developer is actively creating applications for coin. You can read more about it in main thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325735.0 .

I'm not developer  :) but I like idea of this coin very much. So I want good logo to be created for it, I'll talk to developer and he will choose one of the variants suggested in this thread. My donation for logo will be 250 Datacoins (+ 150 DTC from MessyCoin if he doesn't win), if anyone wants to increase donation, please PM me.

I figured data is set in stone. So I went with a sumerian cuneiform idea. The inverted versions make it more futuristic, as in digital data.

Datacoin = DC = ><, hence the X looking pattern.

I think we should definitely wait for a couple days worth of submissions though; really like a couple so far but I'd reserve judgment until we get a few more.

Agree with you - 5 days more is enough to post several cool ideas. And I remind that I'll send additional DTC to everyone who posted good logos here, not only to winner (though he'll get the biggest prize  :) )

MessyCoin's dark version is quite good, though cryptasm's is the cleanest.

Messy: If it was done in photoshop, you should send me some raws and let me clean it up a bit, I think I can make it sharper. :)

I do want this coin to get the best possible logo and will be happy to release my design as a vector file after the contest. it was made in Illustrator just as outlines but could easily have drop shadows/effects filters added by someone. Going to wait until after the contest but would be happy then to see what you can do with it! Cheers.

Here's just a first global design that I made real quick. I think this is a logic design for ''Datacoin''. Could you give some descriptions of the logo you have in mind? Do you want a 2D kind, which color, etc.? I would like some feedback.

Nice logo Hindsight, and a cool "sign" for Datacoin giving it a nod towards BTC
Perhaps you would consider a "3D" version of a coin with the logo and numbers on the face and the description DATACOIN along the rim?

Any chance you could provide other colour gradients for this one? I mean still blue, but just to have some other options.

Also, what about one where the style of "D" you used from the first logo is combined with how you did this second one?

messycoins, light is the best of the bunch

I feel like the best concept would be if we could use cryptasm's design but in the background, we represented the nodes as how MessyCoin's logo did.  Like a combination of both. :D

Here's another concept I made. This one is in copper, but of course I can also make a silver or golden one. I figured my previous attempt looked too, how do I say it, ''flat''. Feedback appreciated.

I'd really like to see a combination as well :) Cryptasm's designs have a very polished glossy feel to them. I don't have those photoshop skills to do that but would like to see that kind of effect applied to my logo concept, or to see my "nodes" concept combined as Kelekin suggested. I don't care so much about winning as seeing DTC get a great, distinctive logo.

This is pretty fantastic.  Super awesome job. 

My initial design was only intended to be a concept/outline then I noticed there was a contest on so I posted it in this thread.

Would still prefer it be re-worked by a pro eventually but I had a go at tweaking some and Photoshopping it myself. Here we go:

I think I'd like the above logo better if in the second version you moved the "d" so that the bottom was tangent to the bottom coin and the tip of the "d" protruded up into the green coin.

Thanks! Yes, I agree. There are a lot of things which I would improve. I haven't time to work on details...maybe I'm already too late with this logo. But I hope that we would choose best option for datacoins!

I like this logo most of all. Do you have any server where you can create demo version of the site with this design? Even without all info, just demo.

I can create only design without layout at firtst. And when we would choose right  ;) logotype I can make html from it.  :)

Man, seriously, it is the best design over all listed, it's very good that you posted it even at the end! I think that it will be final logo - it gives a possibility to create full design in the same style.
So I think that you can claim your Datacoins ;) and create layout. Can you work with javascript(jquery) or do you work only with design?
