I was wondering from what I have read in the forum threads and a lot of people talking about the rise of altcoins. Most of it are saying that it will be ether to achieve what bitcoin has achieve today. They talk about its market price volatility or its price that is slowly recovering other than bitcoin that for somehow as of this moment has fall down a little bit on its market price. One thing came to my mind and that is the possibility that ethereum could be next to bitcoin? I am also happy if this will happen since I am holding a 1 ether in my digital wallet and I am hoping that one day ether will somehow break the record for bitcoin even though it is an altcoin.

Next to bitcoin? as listed in CMC and other lists ETH is listed as the second coin that has the highest market cap so it's already next to bitcoin in terms of market cap.

Yes there's a possibility but bitcoin needs to be at $100,000+ for this to happen.

This is very much possible especially that there are a lot of icos and people that invests in eth. However, the timeline for this coin to reach such value is uncertain and may be a little bit longer.

everything is possible, the only thing you'd have to worry is whether you are going to be still alive when that happen. it all just depend to the demand which ETH already have good demand otherwise it wouldn't have the price that it had today. since the government are already going to be making regulations, i think the price of most coins are gonna be skyrocketing.

Many say that the market capitalization will reach its heights by the end of the year. If this happens, then all the coins (well, bitcoin is the very first of course) will show bullish growth. And if the capitalization is high enough, we will see even such a high price as you wrote.

This is unlikely, the ethereum network is very large and its volume is much higher than bitcoin, so the price will not be so high, I think that for the ethereum the maximum possible option is 5K$ at best))))

Even if it happens one day it won't be very soon, maybe in 3-5 years. It'll depend on the total market capitalization. So if we suppose that the share of BTC and ETH on the market will remain the same, then by making simple calculation ETH will reach $19k approximately when the total market cap will be around $12 trillions.

Unfortunately it wont happen in the future,but possibly will happen few years from now as it is the second most valuable coin in the market.The platform has reached good enough as of the moment that is why it is the second valuable after bitcoin.We cant predict when but im sure it will if and only if bitcoin's value has surged up causing all of these altcoins to increase their values.

Ethereum can reach $19k or higher someday in future, But I think it would largely depend on Bitcoin's price. Meanwhile there will be other new competitors to ETH, Better lookout for them as well.

Although ETH is a very good token, I am not optimistic that it can surpass BTC.
Because BTC's current status is recognized by all countries.

It won't gonna happen soon, even if the bitcoin reached its maximum supply and i doubt if the bitcoin will worth around 100k in the future, It's impossible to ethereum worth 19k for every ether. I'm not feeling pssimistic but just tell the fact ethereum supply is 5x from the bitcoin.

For me i think it may not be a very fast thing but i believe ethereum can reach 19k usd in the future, though no one can say exactly,byt ethereum is doing extremely well and also has the potential to reach there

No one can predict this bro . Although ETH is too potential , but it's difficult to reach $19k .  I think that ETH will reach $2k by the end of this year . Personally , I'll hold ETH in long-term

For that value to reach Eth needs like 20x-30x more volume and money injected into it, it is definitely possible but i think it cannot happen overnight, it will take time.

It's possible for ether to reach 19k$ but not in the the near future. I think it will be possible after 10 years if cryptocurrencies are still alive by that time.

Possibility will always be there,but the chances in the near future would be less if bitcoin's value wont surge up as most of the altcoins in market are depending to bitcoin's value,when bitcoin's value has surged up most of these altcoins are going to grow,when bitcoin has dumped most of the cases these altcoins are going to dumped much harder than bitcoin.

For ethereum, while the price of 19,000 dollars is out of reach in the near future. For this to happen, it is first of all necessary to remove the dependence of all crypto-currencies on the cost of bitcoin. Given the supply and how ETH is set up, I don’t see how it could possibly reach 19,000 in the near future. Even if there is a project on the Ethereum blockchain that goes crazy in the mainstream, I don’t see it.

The market cap is already $62 billion and for the price to increase to $19,000, the market cap would have to go to about $1.8 TRILLION for Ethereum alone. It doesn’t make sense financially, but nothing makes a ton of sense in crypto markets.

I doesn't look ethereum can reach to 19K USD, as Bitcoin market is growing day by day and now also there many cryptocurrencies competing ethereum like Litecoin, Monero, Dash, Dogecoin, ripple, Peercoin, Feathercoin, etc.

I am curious how you got with exactly the number 19K USD. Are you refering to the ATH Bitcoin price? Because they have nothing in common.
Will Ether reach 19K USD? I doubt it. Probably if it is one of the 2-3 majot platform in 10 years, it may be possible.

It can happen and I hope ethereum reaches $ 19k but not for now, this ethereum may take a long time to develop that price. we now know that most altcoin in the market depends entirely on the price of bitcoin. but I am sure a few days or a few months ahead the ethereum will reach a high price.

I don’t think ETH will rise to $19k in the near future which is within this year. But I do think ETH may go to $19k within the next few years.

In the near future (as in within the next year?) I think it is almost impossible. It would have to increase by more than 20 fold which is pretty much unheard of for high market cap coins. At that value it would easily eclipse bitcoin as the number 1 cryptocurrency, which most of us will agree isn't likely to happen within a year, if ever.

Nothing is impossible in the Crypto World, A few months ago the price of eth was only about $ 300 USD and had reached $ 1200 USD. But to reach $ 19K USD I think is quite difficult, but as I said "Nothing is impossible in the Crypto World" So let's hope it will happen.

That is a dream that no one can predict now. so long as ETH can fall as low as $300 despite it drastic rise before the start of the year, so as there is the probability of it rising to your dream of 19k.

Of course, that's possible but Ethereum is so far ahead of the curve in development. When you look at Vitalik and the team of developers, all they've done and are doing, considering Ethereum isn't even a finished product, the remember it's only a little over 3 years old yet so far ahead of the curve. I think I wouldn't hold my breath on THAT happening.

For ETH to do 30x in the near future might be difficult. I think $19,000 is achievable in the next 3 years. But it is quite impossible to happen within this year.

What exactly you mean by near future ?If you mean less than an year, I do not think ETH will be able to reach that mark  by then.

I strongly think its not possible for now. From all indices, Bitcoin has to do x30 in nearby future for Ethereum to achieve that height.

The possibilities are endless. I believe that ether can get to $19k but it might take some time, maybe a couple of years but we will get there just make sure you invest

I think it's too early to be waiting for such a huge price for ether. A year ago we had only the potential for growing but nowadays we expect to become ultra reach  :D I dont think it's bad but we gotta wait a little!

Are you serious? ICOs are currently what brought the price down, not up. The reason for that is the fact of ico bans and regulations.
I think that ethereum could get there eventually, but the op asks about the near future and that seems highly unlikely. If that happens, ethereum's market capitalization will be slightly less than 10000 more that the one btc currently has. It sounds just crazy to me.

it's possible to happen but it will be very difficult to achieve how long it takes ETH to reach $ 19k, as high as very bitcoin is a bit too difficult to reach $ 19k again ETH many other advantages that do not resemble such a very potentially huge bitcoin to ride maybe a few years after Bitcoin success, back again with the advantage that ETH has i guess it will not happen in the future, maybe people would prefer Bitcoin after Bitcoin succeed? no one knows.

I do not think that the etherium will ever cost as much as bitcoin costs. Bitcoin will always be more expensive than the etherium by several orders of magnitude. Bitcoin is bitcoin, and the etherium is just one of the altcoyins, albeit the fat one.

I agree if etherium will break the record for a very expensive price, but I think if etherium breaks the record to rival the bitcoin. it is highly unlikely, because the very strong and has become the parent of altcoin, so very difficult to rival bitcoin

I think no altcoin can replace bitcoin, he took his position in the market leader, and hide it someone will be able to throw away, because it all started.

This opportunity is always there! But I think this will not happen soon. For ETH it would be good to grow up to $ 2,000, and here the bar is $ 19,000. If that happens, it will just be a great miracle.

Possibility will always be there,but the question is,when,because bitcoin seems to be having a hard time to push the market up that is why it is harder to tell when will this market are going to break its current resistance,as we can see the hard resistances are in the $10k levels because it is the psychological resistance of people.

You probably meant bitcoin. ETH to over$ 19,000 is still a lot. Yes, bitcoin has achieved such growth in a year with $ 1000-but the ether is a completely different coin.

Just look at the current circulating supply and the market cap. You will get your answers. Or let me tell it - the chances are extremely low. The based on just the current market supply, the price you are expecting that is $19,000 USD means the market cap being more than a trillion USD which is quite insane for a single crypto to cover. More over it might be possible but the price of bitcoin will be way higher than it is now, so you will be better off investing on bitcoin.

Achieve this price is possible but no in nearest time. In my opinion ethereum can achieve maximum 2000 dollars until end of this year, so 19k dollars will be achieved over several years

Government and Banks has nothing to do with Ethereums price, but what will be Bitcoins price if Ethereum reach $19000? Probably around $250000 for a Bitcoin. I don't think that $19000 is possible price in the near and not so near future.

Most likely it wont really be possible. Eth do have current supply of 99,065,661 and bitcoin do have total 21M and 17M currently  in circulation.When we do just talk on realistic basis we can really presume that reaching out $19k or even surpass bitcoins milestone isnt possible. If it does then what would be the entire cap? We wont able to achieve that much.

If the inflation rate of the US Dollar was 50% during the next 3 or 4 years, maybe then ETH could reach 19k USD.  ;)

I think if the bitcoin price will rise to 200,000 dollars in the near future, it is possible that the cost of the Ethereum will also rise to 20,000 dollars.

Everything is possible in this world as far as the world is still in the existence, but base on the analysis author of the reply before mine above, I don’t think it’s possible at all. For only ETH to reach up to trillion usd on market cap. It might be definitely a nightmare. Just my opinion

Anything is possible, we all know that crypto is not yet fully developed and it is not widely adapted yet. Just imagine the market demand if people, businesses and even government starts adapting crypto currency and block chain in their system and services. There will be more investors and the market demand will massively increase.

I do think that it is possible for etherium to reach such msrket value given that it id having a high demand in the market and for its large community of users. But I think there will be more years to come for its value to reach that much and surely, hllding for that long would be worth it than to just sit down and panic every backdrops in the market.

Of course it is possible , just look at bitcoin . But i may take a long time before it hits that number. And there are a lot of factors that will come in to play , like if there will be a better product in the future than eth is. Maybe Vitalik decides to stop and eth crashes because of that, there are a lot of things that can happen so it is impossible to predict.

It depends what you mean under "the near future") if it's 2018, so that's hardly possible. I guess, by the end of this year it'll hit 2k-2,5k. Further, in 2019-2020, if the crypto market remains solid, it may go up to 20k under favorable conditions.

What is the near future for you? If it is sometime this year then 100% it will not happen. If you mean in the next 5 years then as long as Ethereum doesn't blow up, most probably it should reach that amount. Try focusing on technology and what these coins can do for you, rather than price. If they are solid in fundamentals price will follow, otherwise you are involved in a shitcoin.

Why ether? And why not bitcoincash? And why also hold just 1Ether if you think there is a possibility of ether hitting that $19k price in future. Well, I believe whatever we do here is mere price speculation. It can only cause panic or excitement but it certainly won't help the overall market situation.

I think that it's impossible for Ether to reach 19k USD in the near future. To reach such a huge amount , it would take a minimum of 3-5 years, and  crypto has to go mainstream in the meantime.Also, Bitcoin would would have to be worth around 200k $, if we keep the same proportions in marketcap as it is now.

The price does not means anything, the marketcap is what defines it.

Also, ethereum does not have a limited supply, it is always rising, so it means that they are printing a lot of ethereums everyday.

Hopefully by the end of this year we'll see the price to spike higher than what's been speculated. There's no limitations of the price to be achieve, because more ethereum token platform were now gaining its demand as well as the value. That will not be in a short span of time, but rather at the end of the year or maybe with year 2019 we can experience the price to reach at $2k or until $3k.

There will always be some possitibility that it could happen,but that is too huge for some speculations,if i were you i wont be expecting too much with these tokens so that you wont be checking these tokens from time to time.$19k is absurd ,you should bought something when bitcoin was dipped too much and im sure yoi are going to make a lot of money.

$19k is too good to be true,that is why i wont going to speculate that amount.Based on the market movements it can hit $2-3k before the year ends remember these big players wont allow bitcoin to surge up because they do want to compressed its price but it is possible indeed when the bitcoin's value has skyrocket.

OP is not even asking about bitcoin, he is talking about a dream price of ETH, by looking at the price now you cannot say that the price will reach $19 k in the future even when the price of bitcoin touches half a million, that might change but i do not see that the price is rising that high in ETH.

Anything can happen in the crypto market, but to reach ETH at the 19K total market cap of crypto needed to be around 2 Trillion dollars. Is it possible yes? but most important how long it might take? well, it might take 1-year or 2 years or even 5 years, you never know. But it might happen or might never happen.

we not talking here about the race of price between bitcoin and etheruem but of course all people positively expecting both become very expensive and this very possible depends on the demands and take note buddy's nobody can replace bitcoin as number one coin or king of altcoins because bitcoin are stable and popular in the world as king of virtual currency.

Well, the possibility is still there and considering that ETH may reach as high as $19K USD, my assumption is that  BTC by that time would probably be more than the $60K USD mark. In my simple way of understanding the current scenario, ETH price increase actually depends on BTC's performance in the market. But definitely, no other alts can replace BTC from this decade alone.

Nothing is impossible in the market specially if million of investors will enter cryptocurrency. Still, it really is impossible for ethereum specially to other altcoins to surpass bitcoin where it is 15 to 20 times ahead from ethereum. if ETH reaches $19k, I'm pretty sure that BTC is over $100k that time. Big time players and investors are more bullish to BTC than ETH and we all know that.

Anything can happen in the crypto market. With the frequent use of Ethereum in ICOs and the bullish sentiment of many regarding this altcoin and in cryptomarket the price that you mention would be achievable but when it is we dont know.

In the nearest future? 19 thousand? Man, you seem to be a real fan of Ethereum. Yes, I believe that the coin will be constantly growing this year but 19K is something that is not realistic. it will not happen.

If to consider all the upcoming innovations in the development of the ethereum, then, i think so, the price of the 2nd crypto currency can jump well in the near future. But, of course, the whole market and bitcoin should also grow.

The price of any crypto currency in general, and the Ethereum in particular, largely depends on the interest to it from the buyers. The higher the demand, the higher the price. At the moment, Ethereum is pretty much untwisted - focusing on its great capabilities. However, to say exactly how much it will cost is very difficult.

I think this is entirely possible. Anything in the encryption world can happen. There are many investors in Ethereum. The market demand is large and one of the most trustworthy coins, so we just need to wait quietly.

So far bitcoin can reach $20k, I see no reason ethereum can't reach same in near future. as far as crypto currency is concern nothing is impossible, most especially when it comes to price hype.

Don't get caught on a hype. No one can surpass Bitcoin value because it is the first and most trusted cryptocurrency in the market. As you can see, Bitcoin dictate the price. Every time Bitcoin's value goes up and down, altcoin always follow and sometimes it suffer more than bitcoin.

Maybe it can reach that possible 19K USD in the near future once the bitcoin will prove its unexpected price value of 40-50 USD. That's the reason why the value of ethereum and other altcoins will push to increases into a biggest volume of supply and demand in a market.

For now bitcoin is the leader but we don't know what will happen in the future as we don't have crystal ball that can really predict what would really happen. But with the current trend i don't think that ether had a chance against bitcoin considering the percentage of drop that it had with regards to it's ATH.

This is assumption is not possible in this year, maybe 4 year to come. Because when I see current market situation, I discover that ethereum will be great but not to that extend of $19k

I think in the near future this price is for Eterium not real. Even bitcoin is now far from $ 19,000. And if bitcoin is now the price is not high, then from altcoins there is nothing to expect a high price.

I dont discard that possibility, but if that ever happens it would not be in the near future, ethereum is still too little of a coin to be at that price, let's hope for the best still.

I'm very sure that ether will reach that far or even more because it's still continue to rise, it is a very promising crypto as next to bitcoin or maybe as equal to bitcoin in the future, many ICOs, investor and crypto whales that support ethereum.

Bitcoin will soon be past $19,000 permanently.  The reason for the decline is so the big boys can get in.  They are manipulating the market with this ETF news and calculated dumps. 

I think that the market value of etherium reaching 19k usd is quite impossible. Maybe in the next 10 to 20 years but soon? No way. There's just too big of a jump for that to happen. Even the bitcoin reaching 20k usd is just a humongous pump and was not there for long.

It's nearly possible for ethereum to reach $19k dollars, but maybe after a few years from now. And i'm sure that before it will happens, bitcoin is still on the top of it and it might triple the price of $19k when this time comes.

Bitcoin also took 4 years to reach $ 19,800 from the price of $ 300 in 2014

Ethereum is already according to coinmarketcap next to bitcoin in terms of market cap. ETH is growing very fast and has showed lots of potentials and value with almost all other altcoins adopting it as payment currency across the crypto world, but realistically, it'll take ETH a  lot more time to reach the $19k margin perhaps that'll be when BTC reaches $80k+,  I think it's possible but also difficult.

Maybe it's more appropriate to need a long time for that because Etheruem has an unlimited supply value.

Yes there is a possibility that ethereum can get to 19k but I would not exactly say that it will be happening in the near future. The market still needs a lot of time to grow and ethereum has to mature even more as a coin and find its footing. Yes that price is possible but you are going to have to wait a long time for it to get to such a price.
