Title: support forum
Post by: the founder on August 04, 2011, 02:25:53 AM
I have a quick question,  I would like to rent out forum space here.. literally just a room or whatever..  so we can run support here...  I figured that already most people are here and hence it would be easier for all involved..   is there a process for asking i'll pay for it (if it's reasonable) as compared to hosting a new forum for support...   it would make life easier for all parties involved as it would keep flexcoin stuff off the other bitcoin topics.

I know I can just download some support ticket system or forum software and run it that way.. but I'm sort of used to this interface, as is everyone else here.

Thoughts?

I think it's free and you would only have to pay for hosting and add the page(s) you your existing website: http://www.simplemachines.org/

I think that makes me use my own url...  I was actually looking for something like this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=40.0
 Mining support (Moderator: DiabloD3)

I want it to be like that.. not just the same software on another domain..  but that way it keeps what bitcoin porn states is spam off the pages he sees... since it would be centrally located in a subforum here.

trust me i'm not happy about posting crap regarding it here.. I think our own room would make a better choice for everyone.

What kind of posts would be in the section?

Mostly support...  literally just make crackers and I moderators on that subroom so these flexcoin questions don't litter the rest of the forum...  we could run support, questions etc though it.

We were tinkering with bugzilla and sugarcrm ...  but it kind of sucks since people post their thoughts here anyway.

Completely up to you, but it's my opinion that it would help clean up the room for you guys and keep flexcoin out of the main bitcoin room.

I don't think we'd have that big of a centralization problem as long as we require services that provide support here to also have another published form of support (at least an email address). In fact, the newbie mods were wanting to make something like this to consolidate all of the newbie support threads. The only difference with that idea and this one is that companies would get a whole board to provide support on, instead of just a thread.

I have no problem providing a valid support address...  it's just that running support though here would make my life easier than trying to mess around with another CMS system (and detracting from flexcoin).

Or a dozen threads anytime something happens.

I just don't want to startup another cms on the site...   it can be distracting.
