Title: Warning about Phishing Private Messages Post by: ripple on November 22, 2013, 12:43:45 AM I logged in to this forum and received private message from member, supernatural (Sr member),on 21st November 23:22:20.
It quotes an article purportedly on Bitcoin Forum, but is actually hosted on a look-alike site shown at end of message. The website has a nearly identical website name to this forum 'bitcointalk.org' but with the letters l and k reversed. I believe this is designed to steal your Bitcoin Forum log-on details. Its important as the scam is designed to disrupt this forum by stealing forum identities. The same trick has been used 10000 times to get your (or others) bank credentials too. Maybe the Mods of this forum can figure how to best warn people.
If this warning saves only one persons log-in identity on Bitcoin Forum it will have been worth it. |
