Post by: superkawaii on November 22, 2013, 01:55:08 AM
hey guys thanks for taking the time to visit my thread <3

i want to make my first ever BTC transfer and but im unfamiliar with something , im transferring from Mt Gox to another exchange the amount is just under 1 btc and these are my options

 1.    Open Transaction (6 Confirmations)

2.      Pay 0.001BTC Fee For Faster Processing (Required for Transactions below 0.01 BTC)

or can i choose neither?

i dont know which is better or worse

IIRC choosing neither works.

Are you trying to move it into a new exchange like RIGHT NOW???  If you can wait for it, then you could save yourself .001 and stay put for a couple days till your transaction goes through.  Forget about the open transaction issue because you trust GOX to NOT doublespend your coin.  I usually always pay the 001 fee because I'm paranoid that if the network blocks my transaction and sends it bac to GOX, that GOX cannot fund the btc back to my account for some reason or another (wallet server and your old address being a shared wallet at some point.
