I think you need to post more high-quality posts or replies.
Then someone will give you merit.

At this time, you need to wait for your rank to rise and only then work on their posts they should be content and high quality to get the merit

You need to post high quality topics, that will intrigue and motivate readers to give you merits.
You can also give high quality replies to topics, and get merits that way too.

You should send more high-quality and insightful posts. He'll give you thumb up when he meets a friend who has the same idea.

First of all choose the best topic to answer your best, then observe the question and think how could you help him and all others by your words. Write a high quality post which is relevant to the question. If your words help anyone, then you will get merits. In these days merits are difficult to earn, even user want Merits over Free ETH ;D.

Same old folk song huh? Up to this point of coins recovery, merit is still your concern? OMG! Well, if you wanted to earn some merits make sure that what you're going to post have some sense/crypto lessons that others may get some infos. If it doesn't work for you, well that's the problem of most merit seekers here.

This a million dollar question, newer accounts are struggling to move up in rank due to merit system, it is high time to make merit easier thus making the active members easier to rank up.

Looking at your profile and your first post was just over a week ago. Not sure what you consider to be 'a while', but you've got a long way to go yet. Concentrate on building your knowledge and consequently the quality of your posts first, before even thinking about anything else.
