The article's mostly-good investing logic would have been just as applicable a year or two ago. I guess there was just too much intellectual laziness and other mental fog floating around the WSJ for anyone to bother to look at what bitcoin really is.

Once Bitcoin reaches the stage of "financial engineering", you'll see some rather scammy products oriented around Bitcoin valuation. The only benefit however, is that they can't arbitrarily dilute Bitcoin itself, only the paper they put on top of it.
I bet it is coming, and not just the Winklevoss effort or the existing Bitcoin investment funds. |
