Litecoin creator Charlie Lee sold all of his holdings in December last year.  He’s now regretful about his decision but thinks this was the right long-term move as he tried to make Litecoin a truly decentralized cryptocurrency.

What is your idea?

With Charlie out of it, there are very few core developers following it. Which would make it's further development lousy.
It doesn't have a huge community and userbase like bitcoin and has no proper team to lead any further. So, it just on its own.

litecoin team has made a big mistake by spread the bullshit rumour to create hype to the litepay.us, and litecoin gets rekt right now.
Charlie has sold all of his holdings, and it doesn' matter. The only main reason people are not feeling convenience again with it (litepay story).

You can see that how official twitter of litecoin team created an apology for their mistake overhyped to the  litepay. 

It would become a real decentralized cryptocurrrency if some few core developers of it stops following litecoin, and sells of all of their coins but the price movements at that point would depend solely on community alone.
I think litecoin itself can survive even without it's developers(since it is one of the coins that are good to use for settling transactions fast) and has coinbase supporting it(making it more visible to people since coinbase is a well known crypto broker). For this two reasons, I think LTC can rise more.

I think yes. Litecoin is the best due to the scarcity of coins, I believe 84 million max. And Charlie Lee really is striving to make Litecoin one of the most valuable cryptos simply through usability/utility. Litepay is rolling out which will allow for widespread adoption of the crypto and they the "big" surprise for 2018.

Just like a noob selling out on the first leg up. :P But seriously, he seems conflicted about whether it was a good thing or a bad thing. If he truly sold out to "avoid conflicts of interest" like he says, then it should have been the right decision.

With or without the creator of Litecoin, there are few who are the best developer and the co team members who are continuing in it and as we can see litecoin is still performing on the top in coinmarketcap. I do believe at this moment, and we know that litecoin is performing few years ago and until now, this has a good future, this is just my idea based on the fact that its one of the top when it comes to trading volumes. Yes maybe this is a good for long term investments, litecoin also fork so that means we can fully rely on its capacity to stand for a long period of time in the market. Let us see how it goes and how far litecoin will perform in the trading volumes.

I really don't know the answer. Not more than a few other hot prospects, but probably somewhere in the middle. I see it as a relatively secure buy, but not so "fall on your ass" at the moment.

If you look at LTC-BTC chart for last 12 months, the price has been fluctuating between 0.01 and 0.02 BTC. Everytime it grows above 0.02 BTC, the growth stops and when it dips to 0.01 it start increasing again. Right now it is 0.016 so I don't expect anything exceptional.
If we are talking about USD price of Litecoin, it depends greatly on bitcoin price so if you ask me if Litecoin will get back to 250 or even 300 dollars. Yes, I think it will, but we need to wait that Bitcoin rises again.

Litecoin is not a breakthrough project in the world of blockchain and is positioned as silver among cryptocurrencies. I don't trust Charlie Lee and his posts. It seems he's taking advantage his reputation, in order to sell high and buy at low prices.
The last four months he's done it too many times.
I still have faith to Litecoin and the potential it has, but I would like to see Charlie out of his coin.
Satoshi did the right thing letting BTC free to mature without his presence.
I hope it could be done once more whithout Lee's presence.

It still has a strong support so I think it can still rise. I believe it is just fair that Charlie sold his holdings to make it more decentralized. It's probably a hard decision for him as he knew Litecoin will grow even more.

It will rise but I think others would rise more sharply. So I suggest coins under $5 to be entrusted upon. These coins are PRG, ADA, MIOTA and XRP. I would advise to invest in these because your return would be much higher with these coins.

I'm not massively bullish on litecoin because transfer fees aren't that cheap compared to ripple, nano etc and LN will eventually mean even BTC transfers are virtually free too

Litecoin price tracks bitcoin up and down well and outperforms it mostly. Most coins including Bitcoin lost big in the correction of last few months but most should rise to new highs including Litecoin by end of 2018.

I do think Litecoin will continue to rise but also that Charlie Lee has introduced significant doubts about the future by dumping all of his coins last year and saying it was overvalued (it is like a business owner saying I dumped all my shares but I still believe in the company).  I think the doubts are unfounded aside from can the slow transaction times continue and survive along side Bitcoin and other rivals or will the "confirmation, block mining" style coins all disappear.

Yes. I agree with your opinion. Litecoin has a good selling point for now even though it has already dropped half of its peak price. I think Litecoin is one of the most suitable investment venues if we look at the current market developments.

I think investing in other coins that have a chance of increasing by a greater multiple should be a better option than LTC. Go for coins like TAU, XLM and XEM. They will serve the purpose much better and profits would be higher.

He aint stupid to sell all of his coins,as of the moment i dont see anyone who are dumping big amounts of supply of litecoin.Ive heard theres something that is going to come with litecoin whih is why i am still holding this coin as it has some good development team when the litepay has finally come to our market im sure we are going to make a lot of money when we have litecoin in our wallets.

If history is any indicator of the future, we are around the Nov 7-14th week of our last cycle. Litecoin has broken the downtrend and is now finding support before taking the next leg up. When volume comes back in, this thing could get interesting.

litecoin is one of the rare altcoins that actually follows bitcoin everywhere.
in other words what you see as "breaking downtrend" is because bitcoin stopped dropping and has reversed some time ago and is now on the rise. so litecoin is also following it right now to the top.

LTC has been always choice of coin after BTC, ETH! So I am pretty sure either peoples choice or LTC"s development opportunity will bring ATH one more time. There is no problem with this currency and as we have seen the ATH once in a while, so the past will surely repeat itself and it only means that we know the true potential for this coin.

I am thinking the exact same thing too. litecoin is a coin that I so much believed in and I bought into the coin and plan to hold for a long time but sometimes I am just not sure about what it is that charlie Lee is doing and I have to say I have been tempted more than once to just sell off all of my litecoin and take back my money, although I think I will stick around for a while longer.

I still have confidence in Litecoin. When BTC hit USD 6200 in October 2017, 1 LTC was USD 62. However, after December's bull run when BTC dipped back to USD 6200 in Feb. 2018, LTC only dipped to USD 130 (later it did dip to USD 118).
However, even if it may have lost more than half its value since peak times (like most coins), the fact that it didn't go back to USD 62 makes me think it is a strong coin with plenty of potential to grow.

I am not sure about it,but i am waiting for the litepay to be released,because ive heard charlie lee is developing the litecoin which is like the bitpay of bitcoin,it will offer small merchants to use litecoin sa their main cryptocurrencies,if you are a merchant which are planning to accept cryptocurrencies litecoin would be the best choice as it has faster confirmation speed than bitcoin/ethereum,with less fees.

LItecoin is a very cool token with an interesting technology and an excellent team! It's very comfortable to use and has fast transactions! I think at least it will double in price by the end of the year!

Litecoin is slowly moving up. It is stable at the moment and just waiting its turn to go up and make its new highs. But if bitcoin turn out to be going down again, it will stop its movement and the price will float again waiting for the movement of bitcoin.

Litecoin does look like a good option for people to buy into and use as a hold coin if you ask me, I mean the project looks good and the developers seem to always be working to make the project a better one so that is a plus side. This month of JUNE i have seen LITECOIN with a price of 140 USD each.
but in just a few weeks it went down to 90 each.

The current bear market has devalued every coin in this market in a big way which is why Litecoin has lost a big portion of a value ever since the start of this year, but this does mean it lacks potential to grow in the future. Yes of course Litecoin will rise more as long as there is always support from the community and there will always be developers following and making updates. Litecoin is a good coin for me but in terms of profit I prefer Dash than Litecoin because I invested once on both coins but had a nice profit from Dash though Litecoin is fast and I also make profit with it but not that big due to lack of movements.

Litecoin is just proving itself to compete among other altcoins, thus Litecoin team members will continue support and make some development to rise up its potentiality for long term holdings. We don't need to expect more pump from it, we only need to secure our investment and there is no way that it fall into deep.

I am a very big fan of Litecoin. It is a very good cryptocurrency. I believe It is one of the most undervalued coins. Litecoin has certainly got the potential to get $300 by the end of 2018.

Maybe since it was made, Litecoin has gotten positive points that it should be decentralized because He (the creator) is more concerned with his creation than his career. Currently, Litecoin may lose most of its value, but it may be part of the Litecoin Owner's plan to seek more investors, because the low price can be reached / bought by everyone who has a middle income. We can only wait for Litecoin to explode as it did in his former glory.

Even if it will achieve growth again I doubt that it will rise to the biggest value it had last year. At the end of this year, we could see growth to the 200 dollars and that will be the top growth ideal for the cash-out. The future is unpredictable but growth is highly possible. I personally don't hold any LTC but had it and sold it when the time was right. Currently, I am only watching and observing the progress which has the bright future if the developers commit themselves even more into the coin development. LTC  is dependant on the other top coin and because it cannot act alone. I am not on the Litecoin bandwagon train. I have never truly believed in this altcoin as I believe in Ethereum, for example. Call it intuition or the sixth sense, but I believe that Litecoin will go down pretty quickly from now on.

Out of all of the traditional blockchains, I trust ltc the most.

Litecoin will rise more if Bitcoin going up again, by compare the price action of both coin, my prediction Litecoin has big potential like Bitcoin to rise again because the marketcap of each coin still low and with limited supply the price will easy to going up. I know about Litecoin when the price $2 and current price about $50 and the highest price last year is above $350, so LTC need to going up another 7 times to reach the highest price, and that will easy for LTC   to do when bull market.

The e-money market is unmistakable, so I think LTCs will probably increase, and they will probably drop. If we are patient and fearless, nothing will happen. Be strong, risk is always around us

LTC has shown itself on the good side as a stable coin and in the future will amaze everyone with its growth.Of course the price of LTC depends on many factors as well and on the price of bitcoin,LTC is becoming more decentralized and this is good.

While Bitcoin is the king of all currencies, I'm personally waiting to see how lighting network claims to improve scalability and to increase every user’s privacy. Personally, I don't see any potential in LTC. For me, it's a very strange and secondary coin. It's an ordinary blockchain which isn't interesting for the participants of the market. There're many other interesting coins!

There is no doubt that Litecoin has all the potential to rise again, what happened with Litecoin which dropped dramatically is certainly also experienced by all altcoins and even bitcoin, with strong community support Litecoin will rise again.

LTC lost more than half of its value compared to its peak, compared to other currencies, LTC is keeping its price much better. If we have a general view of the market then I am sure BTC or ETH is even worse. I believe LTC will have a long-term development, this is good for LTC.

LTC has seen a massive sellout, but quite frankly it's ranked way up for a coin with absolute garbage-tier fundamentals.
Its devs can only copy+paste and its only use is being a bitcoin testnet. Testnets are cool but don't forget that Ropsten coins are worth $0

Man, I hate litecoin, because I don't know how to apply it, but I heard there is a partnersheep between litecoin and UFC and I am in fond of both mix fight and crypto, so now Litecoin is more valuable for me!

It looks like nothing will change and its price will go up with the price of Bitcoin.

Litecoin is far from being done imo. Not a big fan of it either but that doesn't change it's appeal to the masses.

I remembered my reaction to Mr Lee selling his Litecoin holdings,  it was shocking to me and almost made me lose faith in cryptocurrency as alternative to fiat. Cryptocurrency is still in the developmental stage with no  definite outcome to mass adoption yet.  I believe Litecoin will be leading the way in the regard to real world uses!
