I know about BitVisitor and other faucets but are there any other methods to earn bitcoins? I have also heard that mining is not very viable anymore. So what is the best way to earn bitcoins?

You could do a signature link, you get paid for making constructive posts, and having a link in your signature.

Buy bitcoin with money or get really good at some skill you can advertise in the services section.

I wouldn't put a lot of effort in faucets. The best way to earn Bitcoins is to earn money and then convert that money to Bitcoin. You can also offer services on Economy > Marketplace > Services. ''Renting'' your signature is a pretty good way of making some Bitcoins.

Gambit (http://www.gambit.com/?ref=LarsAndersson) is a relatively new game portal. It may not be the fastest way to earn bitcoins, but at least it is not boring like faucets and surveys.

Offering goods or services is generally the best way. Is there any kind of good or service you can offer in the marketplace? That may be a place to start.

The original bitcoin faucet used to give out 0.01 BTC everyday or something :/

Develop and sell a good product and accept bitcoin for payment. That does take some work though:)

Buy BTC with your own money.  You can make a bit here and there from faucets, but it would be better to spend your time making money, then buy BTC.

I think faucets are not good way to earn. Either job, or freelancing might help.

I've made about $500 off of gambling, it's a huge risk though.

try paid to click sites like coinad.com, btcclicks.com, grandbitcasino.com etc . they helped me to earn my first mBtcs. more than you get from faucets.

This may be a silly question...  how can we be sure that certain click sites or the sites they link to are "not dodgy" (ie malware containing etc). There seem to be quite a few out there and it seems to be a little too good to be true - free btc that is. I've been curious but hesitant to try them as I would not like to inadvertently compromise my system. Are there any that are more "reputable" than others?

If you are a coder/graphics designer you can get paid for your efforts in btc's in this forum,You can also get paid through a get paid style style,bitcoinget or something.

I think that buyin btc isn't the best way after all you want to make money. it's not like 2 weeks ago when you could have bought some and sell them now for around 250% profit.

One thing you can do is become an affiliate for an exchange like coinbase or localbitcoins. They let you sign up, then if you refer someone to their services who buys bitcoin, you get a referral bonus. Just google "bitcoin affiliate programs." Of course, you have to have a venue or place to post your links so that people see and click on them.

Apart from what others have suggested,ie,selling your services,the other methods of giveaways and faucets take far too long and methods such as gambling are untrustworthy. Clicking on ads or visiting sites too takes too much time. If you're interested in full bitcoins and cannot offer services,I suggest you buy them when the price goes down,and resell when the price goes up.

I find it's a bit tricky. I started just after bitcoin news was actually shown on TV here in the UK. The price i started at was 1BTC for £128/$207.50 about 4-5 weeks ago. By the time I read what i needed to know and set up what i needed to set up, it was already out of my buy now budget, hitting $400. Now, I just do the daily grind of faucets and mine when I can, but the turnover isn't that great. One thing I noticed is the obvious websites and advertising used so now i'm going to try and do the same. Even ebay is something to look at but be prepared to be extorted by the markup price...

Coinlenders is dead. The owner is repaying everyone with balances in Coinlenders or Inputs after the Inputs.io hack.

i saw a code for bitcoin site earlier on. if you can do the work over the internet you should be able to get paid in bitcoins. bitcoin is an internet-first currency.

I guess you might have lost some coins and you dont know about it yet.

Worth mentioning that if you have a high-traffic website, you could sell adspace for BTC. They usually don't pay as well (as AdSense) but you could have a look at CoinURL (https://coinurl.com/), Anonymous Ads (https://a-ads.com/) and BitAds (https://bitads.net/).

Tapporo just added bitcoin redemption support. I've used them in the past redeeming my points for paypal. It's basically an app you download and you can earn points by downloading apps/doing offers. Sure, the bitcoin to point exchange rate may not be great depending on how the bitcoin value is constantly changing, but it's definitely one of the better free ways (compared to say a bitcoin faucet) to earn a little bitcoin. Personally I purchased some BTC using Paypal and then made some more money gambling and then simply investing more into BTC and buying low, selling high.

Ask your employer if he could pay in BTC. Probably not, but he might look what Bitcoin is
