Title: BEWARE: PTS Exchange BIT-U.COM
Post by: lajz99 on November 23, 2013, 07:33:52 PM
This is not good:

https://www.bit-u.com/login

We have some sort of big issue. Please refrain from depositing to your address. Hopefully this will get sorted out soon. I have to take site down while I contact my 'partners'.

Apparently everything was deleted from the server.

(21:43) Silfax: Working theory is that there must have been some sort of targeted keylogger on my partner's computer, as there's really no other way that anyone could find the username (much less the pass) to our DO account.
(21:44) Silfax: Also, unfortunately I'm human, and have to sleep now. But hopefully logs will shine some light on this tomorrow. Sorry guys.

DO NOT TRUST SILFAX OR ANYTHING HE HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH ie. COINGROUNDS

Let the operator(s) present their cases before slamming judgement upon them.

K?

No not okay, he needed to take time to sleep rather than dealing with this.  Nothing he says can dispute the fact that he did not appropriately protect the site.

There's a very high likelihood that you will lose everything you had there.  Why not let the guy sleep?  It's already done and gone.  Only thing left is hopefully getting some backups and maybe he will refund some of us.  He mentioned in another thread that all of the BTC in it is gone, didn't mention the PTS.  "Why wasn't the wallet secured?" and "why wasn't there a cold storage in place?" are the only relevant questions.  Either way, it's probably all gone.  You should have been smarter with your money and paid the transaction fees to keep it in your wallet.  Maybe another exchange would have been more secure....another thing to consider.

I know better so thankfully lost very little on an open order, just trying to warn others out there about the irresponsibility of this exchange operator.

I'll definitely be more careful in the future dealing with exchanges that sprout up.  Last night I luckily removed a large amount of my stake in it.
