As we all know that bitcoin has done some increase in the crypto market and i am glad of course that it happen. If i am going to sell my crypto now then probably i will get profit because i bought it when the market price is low. However, seeing the current market price looks like stabilize and i guess ti will turn back down any moment from now. So my speculation will relatively about selling it now or wait for until it will go higher. I have to decide if to continue on holding or should i sell my crypto? What is your idea about the crypto market price movement? What do you think will happen to the current market price now? Should it will be gone higher or will fall down?

if your only half sure on something... obviously only sell half

solves both problems

if it goes up, you are still making profit
if it goes down, you still have fiat to buy more at the new discounted price

No worries. Bitcoin, we know, attracts the attention of developed countries. Now just waiting for their local government to be legal. Some have accepted the presence of bitcoin and inaugurated it. Is not that a positive signal for bitcoin. just a matter of time. Bitcoin will exceed its highest price. In my opinion. and that's my hope.

In my opinion, prices tend to go up and down when the price of experiencing according to not too down and when rising will not be a drastic rise so in my opinion depends on our needs when we have an urgent need and no savings there is no harm in selling half of what we have

if you cannot decide on what decision to make. Just take in half. Don't risk for the whole. Take it slow and invest only half of your money. Because in taking a risk make sure you're preparing on both sides like the worst and the best thing.

Just hold it for now because it will relatively go higher somehow. Just be patient if there are dump with the current market price the let it happen anyway what important is the bottomline and that is when you will get a huge profit at the day where bitcoin market price will go relatively high. Just wait for that moment and be patient enough on your investment. This is how cryptocurrency works and you must get along with it and for sure in the near future you will get what you want or expect you to have. And another thing you if there are market price dump just dont get panic and take away your fears of losing your money in the end because it wont happen.

Well it's your money no matter what advice i give it's you who gets to decide in the end whether to sell it or not. But what i can do is share some information about what could happen this year. Almost every year when you look at the price charts the price always crashes in the 1st quarter and plummets in the 2nd, you could wait for this year's bullish trend.

If you're in profit and can't afford to lose such amount of money then go sell it because no one knows the future prices of Bitcoin. You can also sell your initial investment so you won't lose much and leave your profits in Bitcoin if you still want to hold on to something. My speculation about the price is that it should go up even more and slowly reach $10k I don't know when but we're at the striking distance since the price went up to $9700 this month.

I find 2 main matters in your thread.
1. You are now in the middle of nowhere. It means that you really don't know whether to buy or sell or hold. I think that you'd better visit Speculation boards in this forum for better information and decision
2. If you don't mind, feel free to show me your portfolio (thus i can give some advice for your reference if possible). Because i think that the market is now quite stable and therefore it deeply depend on which coins you are holding. My experience points out that good portfolio is better than luck in many circumstances

you need to trade in the short term, every opportunity then take advantage of it. If for long term investment, it's just a waste of time.

Judge from the current situation there is still chances that it can go higher, but it depend on yourself do you dare to take a risk or not, and it also depends on the coin you are holding, if I am in your situation I will hold it longer because the market seems quite good, when it gone bad there still time to sell

Giving up on this industry is I think the worst thing to do because giving up is losing hope and in this industry patience and hope is what we need in order for us to succeed. If you have loss many time and effort in this industry I think you should accept it as a normal things, and just do your thing, do some bounties and gain knowledge in cryptocurrency and from there you will feel that you are growing. Don't give up dude, you got this!

OP, find a job, get an extra shift or do freelance for extra cash and use that to "buy the dip". One of my biggest regrets was not able to learn how to code. If I did I would try to find some freelance jobs for extra money and keep everything in Bitcoin.

Plus I believe the next global financial crisis is near, and it would be Bitcoin's greatest test as how Satoshi might have planned it. It is a good time to keep earning and keep saving everything in Bitcoin.

@franky1 has summarized it nicely. Just sell half of your stash then just kept the remaining half as hedge if another breakout occurs. As for the price movement, no one can exactly says where the price is going to be, but experience says that bitcoin price can still increase in the next coming months. I mean I'm just wondering why you asking this sort of question right now when bitcoin price is going on a uptrend? You should cast your doubt during the slump, but we since recovered a bit and might hit $10000 I suggest you better stay a little bit longer and see how it goes.

I'd say follow your instincts. You said so yourself that you'll have income if you sell right now so I guess it will just be a matter of how you wanna play it. Are you good with your profit if you sell? If yes, then go. Sometimes it's greed that will ruin everything for us. Just go with what will make you happy.


Not much movement for market I guess. I think it'll be a smooth sailing for the moment and then come next quarter we'll be in on major surprises. Will it be good or bad, that I am not sure as of yet.

You will never get biased advice from a forum full of Bitcoin supporters, because they want people to hoard their bitcoins, to push up the price. I can only speak for myself in saying that my hoarding of bitcoins paid off, because I bought at $400 and I sold at $18 000. This does not happen in a few weeks or months. < I had to wait for a few years >

Short term it can go down, but long term it has to go up. It can be really big or it will not exist. Price of bitcoin wont be 9000 or 6000 in the end. It will be 0 or really big. It is my opinion

If I know for sure the bitcoin price will go up or it will decrease in the future or in near future, unfortunately, I will not tell you. I prefer to be rich myself than to see others rich because of me. In the investment, you should be selfish never to give a depiction of the future about the price of bitcoin or altcoin, just keep your self.

I suggest if you are confused to choose or sell the investment you have, try for long-term investment. Wait for your investment until December, there will be many changes. Price movement is now still relatively stable there is nothing to worry about.

There are two situation that will happen here, first is if you will still hold your bitcoin and continue then there's a tendency that the value will gets higher in some point this year. But another is if you want to sell your bitcoin then you can get your profit now so that means you cannot get a low value anymore and you will get what you expected. And if that two situation I can say that it is still a win-win situation for you.

For my advice you better sell some of your bitcoin and some for you to hold and wait for the high price, and some you sell it for you to keep watch when the price goes down and you can buy it.

Are you saying that you want to take advice from random people on what to do with your Bitcoin investments? that's not the right thing to do because the answers that you will always get is to just hold your Bitcoin because they think that it will still continue to go up. But honestly no one can ever say what will be the price of it in the next few hours or days. The price is higher than it was last month but it doesn't always mean that when the price goes up it that it should go down, it can still continue but we don't know what will happen. My advice is make your own speculation and decide whether to sell it or not, do not rely on what other people say.

It's important that you know a few things:

What is your objective first?

1 - Increase the amount of bitcoin you have?

in this case you will buy low and sell high and return to buy low. always repeating this process. (this is dangerous and requires a lot of knowledge and a small mistake you get less bitcoins)

2 - Do you want to get X profit every time you buy and sell?

in this case you just want to make profits to do your things in real life or buy other things or have the capital to invest in other projects.
 
Based on these two options you choose what kind of trade you want to be.


When you buy any currency, you must decide on a goal, something like: "I estimate to make a profit of 300 $ with this purchase". If you do not have a goal, then it becomes very difficult for you to know when you will leave ( sell )

I personally believe that considering the heights Bitcoin has reached, $9k is nothing. It's also worth noting that Bitcoin has been able to hold around the $11k level in the past (two separate times if I remember correctly), so it should be relatively safe to say that it could easily reach that value again, if not even higher.

That being said, we're all speculating, and if you're happy enough with your gains, go sell. That's the beauty of Bitcoin; you do whatever the hell you want with it. My personal advice would be to sell some just to feel your gains, and keep some so you could keep chasing whatever pavements you have your eyes on lol. Best of both worlds.

If you give up now than you are going to end up regretting this decision few months later as the market is on the verge of having another bull run and the recent price surge was just the start. Why not sell half and keep the other half for some time and see where the markets go and then come to a decision.

You shouldn't sell all your coins at once even though you're in profit because you don't know the future. Bitcoin still can go even higher so if you decided to sell then sell around 30% to 40% and rest keep it. After you sold if prices go down you can still buy more coins from the money you sold or if prices go high then you can still enjoy the profit. Unless you want to go out from crypto investment then you can sell everything when you're in profit and enjoy your profit.

You should make up this decision on your own because we don't want to be blamed later for your actions. The market seems to be stable, Bitcoin transaction fees became lower due to SegWit and the Lightning Network which is slowly being used by more and more people. I am certain that Bitcoin and other altcoins are going to become more popular which will result in their higher price. Many still people don't know or understand cryptocurrencies so that's why we should focus on helping them to understand Bitcoin and encourage them to use it not only because of profit.

I think not all coins have stable right now, I see some of the coins is increase and some of them it increases higher. and if I have that coins, I will sell some amount right now to get my money back. and if we want to hold, we need to think about how long we need to wait IF the market is down again and can be patient for holding that coin? and IF we still have money then I think we don't have to worry about this because if the market down, we could still buy again to add more coins to our balance.

the market will increase more than now but of course, it will any correction that will happen after this and no one knows when it's over so if we can make a good decision then I am sure that we can prevent from getting losses. and if you see the history from the last year, the price will always up and down in anytime so we need to make a plan or even second plan to prevent the worst thing that might happen.

I guess, we have the same scenario here. I'm also hesitant if i'll still continue to hodl or just sell while the market maintain it's stability for the past few days. Though I am still worried everytime my coins are dropping (well, not that too low)and I'm getting paranoid all the time. I guess we'll take the advice of some here.

We'll sell it now while the market is being optimistic. We still gain profits. That's how it plays, we just have to divert in other coins and buy-low again.

Price movement crypto no one knows exactly, everyone just speculate and hope it happens. When the price movement of crypto is considered to have a better advantage we sell half of the coins we hold to take some profits and half the more coins you can bear to wait for the next price movement.

Do not sell your bitcoin holdings for now because the crypto market is still soaring high though it is just slowly soaring but stilll it is a good time to hold any crypto. Just get more profit in holding and for sure you will not regret it for sure. If you sell it right now then probably you will not getting the more possible profit and you will going to regret is somehow on selling your crypto. I believe that this bear market in the current scenario is most likely normal where the fluctuation is seemingly low as compared to the previous bear market during quarter 1 of this year. Definitely, I think the best thing to do for now is to hold your cryptos now and wait for the bull market to take effect in the succeeding months. Now is not the right time in selling your coins due to the bear market where price value is on dip.

its funny we have the same situation, but me i just did not buy i do campaigns like facebook, twitter, signature etc. i engage on cryptocurrency and do campaigns since october and i did my full time since january 2018, actually right now i don't have enough fiat, almost all of my fiat went to hospital because my father suffered stroke, and all the rest of my money is here on crypto world, what i do is i set a target when will i need my fiat and when the value will hit my target value then that when i will convert.

Well that depends on you of course. But if you are selling your bitcoin just so you can cash out, then I advise you not to do so (unless you really need the money of course). However, if it is because you are just worried and anxious about the price dropping, then don't. The price of bitcoin will still surge up and will continue to do so.

 
Hope your father gets well, soon! Anyway, if you like setting target prices when selling, then maybe you can also practice doing trading since you mentioned you like to join social media campaigns. Meaning you already have some tokens. Try trading them, you'll earn more by doing so and it can help you a lot.

On the question of whether you should give up or keep on chasing pavement, I think you very well know the answer to your own query. Especially since you divulged that you had bought in while the market was still relatively low. You could always commit a certain amount to trading BTC and other altcoin to pass you time feeling active in crypto, to do away with this sensation that you may be missing out on something. In the long run you’ll be glad you did.

A skill that a bitcoin user must possess is making wise decision and patience. This is one of the challenges the user faces.  If you don't need it instantly, just sell the half of it. Bitcoin price is unstable, it may increase or decrease, but if you think that it is high enough then sell it. Sometimes being hesitant may lose the opportunity. Vice versa.

To be honest, I strongly recommend doing own research while taking such decisions because it is the highly subjective term and the response to any specific action will be different from every person in every case. I believe that the crypto market will see a recovery in the second half of this year with a full swing so I am arranging my investments in that way but my expectations might be completely wrong and thus I should not advise others to follow my opinions. Crypto is all about self-responsibility and everyone should undertake his own responsibility.

IMO, the market has been bearish for the past 4 to 5 months, it is about time for market to turn bullish. However, this is my point of view, it is better for you to decide the best way out.
