Title: How easy was it for you to obtain your 1st BTC?
Post by: sushi on November 24, 2013, 11:51:38 AM
Subject has it...

When you decided to go into the Bitcoins, how hard was it for you to get some bitcoins for yourself?

When i first wanted to buy some it just seemed like a waste of time. If i have a debit card why can't i just create an account on a exchange and buy some there and then ? it didn't seem worth the time to have to go through verification and then wire the money etc, just so that i could purchase a currency had so few uses at the time. Of course now i know investing then would have been well worth it, but like they say hindsight's 20/20.

Am in the same situation as well. I regret not having jumped on the bandwagon earlier. I'm still trying to get my first full BTC.

Buying wasn't the difficult part, the difficult part was researching if there are any big flaws or if it's just a scam.
Took quite a while until I got enough answers to all my questions.

As easy as 1 - 2 - 3.
Bought 3 bitcoins for $85 USD each, lost all of them gambling, then i sold 0.23 when the price was at like $70 USD lol.

Really easy if I'd tried. Payouts from faucets and earn bitcoin sites were much higher. To bad I didn't use them…  :'(

Sending money to exchange was not the easiest thing, but mission accomplished. Wish here is Bitcoin ATM, would be easier... but little troubles is ok for us, early adopters  :)

Haven't made my first BTC yet, currently at .08 mining.

Just need to figure out what pool will give me the best payout for 20 GHs. So far bitparking seems to do well, as did slush.

I'm newish to bitcoin so it's is just finding a place to park the miners and let them do their work.

I wish I would have known about bitcoin back when it first started. I would have invested about 5 grand usd into it and be sitting pretty now.

I just got into bitcoin about the beginning of November. I started small, got 4 usb erupters, and bounced around pools trying to find one I liked.

Once I figured out I actually wanted to do this I bought 2 v2 blades and sold my 4 usb erupters.

Now, if I would have put the blades on bitminter and left them there I would have made a little more, but I minded zeta for a few days, uno, for a few, then went to bitparking. I made .03 on bitparking but it took 56 hours.

Now, I'm back on bitminter and staying.

It is hard to see the bigger picture when you start out, but in three weeks I made 65 usd. Doesn't seem like much, and definitely no where near roi on the blades, but I have bigger plans.

I remember when bitcoin came out, I laughed then, I'm weeping now. Sad part is I'm in IT, I should have known better. First Google, now this, damn I suck at investing. Back to the coal mines for me, lol

Michael

Luckily, I went into Bitcoins 2011. It took a bank transfer to Mt.Gox, a few days, and then I had a whole lot.

It was fairly easy, I bought it from my friend for cash :)

Although I now kind of regret watching the show from the sidelines for too long. But I was still lucky enough to get on board before this recent rise in value.

I started originally back in 2010/2011, but lost interest after a few months and traded away all my coin, boy do i wish i still had that wallet full of BTC now. I think it took me just over a week to get my first one, even though diff was way lower, The hardware and software had not matured much, so that was a pain(much like some of the startup alt-coins now).

Now its nearly impossible to get any ROI without significant capital investment to start mining BTC from scratch, so I spend most of time looking for the next big thing.

This time i tell myself not to loose interest, or at least hold on to my coin this time around. Hindsight = 20/20 :)

Xornof

P.S. - long time lurker, first actual post here... lol

It took long enough... about an hour of mining with my old Radeon HD 5770 back in 2011. I sold it, and hundreds like it, for around $3.50 a piece. I coulda been a millionaire too ;)

This seems to be quite common with BTC. People like to run away with your money.

Its not only with bitcoin its common in every investment. People have the tendency to get quick gains by frauding others.
