Setup info:

1. Download and install Java from www.java.com
2. Download latest Nxt client – version 0.2.3 - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67242472/Nxt.zip
3. Start the command line in Windows (start -> “cmd”)
4. Start the Nxt client using Java – java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt
5. Open the Nxt client GUI in your browser – http://localhost:7875/
6. Unlock the account using your passphrase (it should be a strong password), remember it – it is the only way to access your account. You will see your account number in the left corner
7. Get some coins and start mining – remember that mining is proof of stake only!

Nxt is proof of stake mining only - you can mine only when your balance is positive.

Is the PoS mining similar to PPCoin etc? AKA the amount of coins you mine is proportional to the amount of coins you have

Help, please, I can't get cmd.exe to run it, it keeps saying file not found

It gives me: C:\Windows\System32

I've been adding:   \Java\jre7\bin\java.exe -cp Nxt.zip Nxt       or      \Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe -cp Nxt.zip Nxt

It keeps saying file not found.  The actual file location for java.exe is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe

What am I doing wrong?

It won't let me... it makes me include C:\Windows\System32.  If I start back at C:\ it says, "not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

Ok, durr, I added the quotes... now it says the same thing for me as CoinBuzz's does.
