Title: Asicminer Erupter Blades V2 with Backpane Help!
Post by: adgezaza on November 24, 2013, 09:07:46 PM
I just received 10 Erupter Blades with a Backpane and I can't seem to get the Ethernet ports to connect.  The PSU seems to be in working order and the fans connected to two of the blades are running fine when plugged in but I'm not getting any response from the Ethernet ports from the blades, just the uplink is working. I also tried putting one of the blades directly to the router instead of the switch and still no response response?

These blades have been used before so do I have to reset them, and/or how do I reset them?

UPDATE:
I realize the backpane shouldn't be on a metal surface so I have just raised it but the problem persists.

I'll give this a shot. You have to configure each blade seperately. They all default to the same IP 192.168.1.254:8000. Change each to it's own unique IP within your networks IP range. Once you have done each one, then you should be able to place them all in the backplane and have them behave nicely.

Goodluck.

Edit: You should probably do a factory reset on them if they are preowned. You have no idea what the IP is for them. I believe it's pin 2+3 shorted together for just a second. Google that to be sure of the pins. That is from memory.... an aging memeory.

Kaos116 is correct, it is pin 2 and 3. There is a row of pins next to each Ethernet port. There is most likely a "Factory reset" label right next to them. Should be the two pins closest to the Ethernet controller. Short them with a paperclip and there will be an LED that will flash notifying you that it has reset.

After that connect the blades one at a time to set each one's IP address to something useful. Make sure that you set it to 192.168.x.y with x being the same as the computer/router you want the blade to be able to communicate with. (your computer will need to be 192.168.1.y to access the config menu the first time after performing factory reset.)
