Title: miner alternatives
Post by: tammertime on August 05, 2011, 03:52:16 PM
hi, i'm just trying to get started the easiest and safest way possible ...
and without hindrances.

can someone tell me if bitp.it is safe ??

i've had a few different messages that have me confused
whether to trust it or not.

 and same goes for bitcoinrebate.

i.e. both seem to be very good, but i need to be more sure, first.

  thanx  :)

My friend uses bitpit and he's had no issues joining or receving payouts. You do have to be patient with them on payouts since they are a smaller pool however. I keep putting faith in btcguild, but god damn their luck is all over the place. One day it's -46%, then it's +36%, now it's back to -37%... I just want some stability here.

I have no idea about bitcoinrebate.

Cheers and GL Tammertime!

If you don't mind waiting on generated transactions, I'd mine Eligius. They're big enough to be pretty stable and I love the fact that they don't try to invade my privacy or over-think the concept. If a pool asks you for anything more than an address to receive your bitcoins, they've asked too much.

I think the easiest way for you is to join BitMinter (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=27062.0), with his custom userfriendly miner. Just create an account on the website, download the miner and press the Engine Start button. You can trust this pool, the owned is very available for questions or suggestions.
