As for now btc is constant on 8 to 10k $ and it will take too much time now to reach its peak of above 20k $ per bitcoin and the fact is no one can guess when it will grow that much in upcoming time may be next year or after 5 year but all believe it will cross 20k $

but did u guess last time right and sold all ur btc at 20 k $ cause me sold it that time and buyed after 1 month on 12k $ peak luckly me guess it right

Point of direction as to the market terminology, $20k is not referred to as peak but rather it is known as ATH. ATH means All Time High.

As to the price prediction, the real price is not known by anybody.

Ehm, yes, you are lucky, but for some people having bitcoin is an investment, not a way of earning on highs and drops. It means, if I really need money, I will sell the part of it regardless of the price.

Sold my bitcoins close to ATH price and don't regret  :) The main benefit is cheap altcoins with usd pair, that I buy now and prepare for new bull run. But this time we may see as ETH starting the whole money train, not btc.

Those are two ways of basically saying the same thing, IMO, though I agree ATH is probably more appropriate.

Props to anyone who sold at $20k and got in at a reasonably low price--you guys are fortunate.  Whoever you sold it to at that price was likely a huge loser.  I'm just eagerly awaiting the time when we get back to that price, and it looks like we're slowly creeping our way back up there, though we're down a couple hundred dollars in the past few days.  That's normal for bitcoin, but I have mixed views as to its long-term growth.  I'm not as sure as I used to be that it's going to $100k or higher.  But we'll see.

Sold a few BTC at around $20k because I thought it went up too much, then rebought at around the $14k mark. I wish I waited a bit longer so I could buy lower though. But hey, at least I made a bit of profit right?

And yea, I do think it will take some time for the price to go back to $20k ish. Hopefully not that long though.

Cool if you sold at 20k it is best as you would have made some decent money during those times and should have bought more when market fell till 6 -7 k as you would again had made money as already it is at 9 and will move now to above 10k and you will need to wait till 12k for break even.

I guess not all have had the same idea back then to sell the bitcoin when it reached 20k, because i am pretty sure with the rate that everyone saw the bitcoin rising back then no one though that at some point it will start going down, everyone though that it was a dark horse that can't be stopped and will keep on rising up for ever, i guess everyone was blinded by their greed and drunk on the feeling of seeing the price going up and didn't think a second about selling it, so that is why when it comes to trading you need to have a thresh hold, at specific point at which you say now i am going to sell no matter the situation is.

And I think that would be best thing for a trader or investor to do. Bitcoins aren’t so easily earned so they must be invested and cared with extra concern. Like, if somebody needs some amount for any daily need, he mustn’t be selling bitcoins and quenching that one desire with bitcoins’ money. This would be the most stupid step he would be making. So be wise and be vigilant.

You are lucky to have taken profit at peak i never sold my bitcoin sadly. But i think sad dsys are over and bitvoin is already making his moves so we could see that 20k$ mark soon. And we will breach 10k$ in this month for sure.

I sold around 30% of my btc portfolio at around 19k...then rebought at around 7k. It's always wise to have some fiat at exchanges for the bear market.

it's just the highest price point so far and it could be in the future or some time again it can be passed by bitcoin because now the popularity of bitcoin is no longer refutable.

You are one of the lucky investors who sold your bitcoin at near $20k mark and I am happy for your decision however, I don't think using the word "peak" with the price of bitcoin which is $20k is good. Its better to use the word "ATH" or all time high rather than peak :).

Anyway that is not the problem but you are lucky like I said but most of the investors who fully trusted bitcoin at that time and they bought it at near its ATH are now suffering at a loss until now. They will go unto a test of patience. What will be their decision? They will hold it until it reach the $20k mark again? They will sell at a loss and move on? They will buy more bitcoin because they trust it.

You may have sold it at $20k due to luck or prediction based on analysis but next time you may be not as lucky before and sell it before it even peaks so hodling is the still best strategy even btc crashes.

Good for you, I have sold half of my bitcoins before the ATH... well, it sucks to admit it but I sold them because I panicked on bitcoin cash FOMO and it see-sawed with the bitcoin price. That was November the 12th if I am not mistaken.

sadly, when bitcoin reach $20k i still didn't have much BTC, and so i think that bitcoin i have (currently at that time is about 0.01 btc) its not worth to sell, so i still HOLD it, even right now, because im sure at this year, bitcoin will go through more than what happen in the last year.

You are lucky to sell in it`s peak. BTC really is volatile and unpredictable, so no one can really predict when it will go high again and what price will be it`s peak again. So trust your instinct.

You are a lucky guy dude. Everyone thought that Bitcoin will continue to rise to $25k after it hits $20k. Now that we are at $9k, our problem is whether we already touched the bottom at $6k or we will still go to visit $3k? Personally I think Bitcoin will need to touch $3k before the epic bull run to $100k.

Well, You should be concerned about the price you're selling your bitcoin so that you won't be leaving money on the table. The difference between Bitcoin's all time high and 2018 lows is much so you can't say you'll just access your wallet and  sell just at any price. That's wrong. Indeed, $20K is the highest achievement that bitcoin price have reached and I think that it had been a basis for all bitcoin users to say when the price of bitcoin have recovered.  That price is now considered to be a big challenge for the market price to hit it again and ever since the dumped from that price,  this is the price that we eagerly wait for.

If you have sold your btc at $20K then good thing for you because not all people are able to do that.  Honestly,  I have sold many btcs before $20K was reached so when that peak had came,  I have doubted whether to sell.  In the end,  I have only sold a portion making me regret that I didn't took advantage of the $20K market price.

Those who sold on $20k level is lucky one, because you secure your profit already but those who bought on that level, its ok don't panic because in long term bitcoin will be back on that level. $20K is still reachable this year, and it can go higher this year expect on it.

Congratulations on selling at the all time high, but even more importantly you did the right thing by coming back to bitcoin and invest again especially when everyone was panicking, this shows that you have a huge confidence in bitcoin, and you are correct when you say that we cannot know when we're going to see that price again but I think that could happen probably when the next halving happens.

Well good that you were able to sell all your Bitcoin on the peak of the price.  Also yes no one can predict the price when it will reach $20,000 again but I disagree on your timeline. 1 -5 years. Of course this is speculation but I think Bitcoins price will reach a new all time high again this year. 

I personally did not sold my Bitcoin that I hold for long time because it did not reach my target price. For the Bitcoin that I am trading I was able to sold it at around $19,000.

 

you musy be whale than. i think that whales know bitcoins direction. Not even so - they make that direction.

first of all you saying you sold your bitcoin after ~5 months is not really anything special. for all we know you waited to make sure price is not going to $21k then made this topic.
second, selling ALL your coins is never a good idea the same as buying with all your money is never a good one. there should always be a balance. you sell a portion of your bitcoin (of course that is working only if you have more than 0.01BTC LOL).
and finally if you did really sell then it mean you should have already bought back because we reached the bottom and it is long gone. if you were really a good trade then you would have bought back at $5900 and if you haven't already then the first step which you said you sold was just a gamble.

Well i don't think whaled sell every coin they're holding in one go though. That's likely not the way whales think. The guy simply was fortunate enough to have decided to sell at that point since he wouldn't know if the price would still continue to grow or plummet. That's one good thing if you are educated about the market

Yes you are lucky,but most of them were not who came to crypto investments at the peak time who are worrying now,but still they have hope that the price will cross $20K again at some point so they have the no other option than holding.But me never sold any bitcoin now just continue to hold until it reaches the maximum value of $1M not that $20K.Aim big and get most benefits!

It didn't even reach $20K, the peak was like $19891.99 on Coinbase and $19550.00 on Bitfinex.

I would understand selling at $20K exactly or $25K exactly but while at those prices?

I admit, I've sold some and went short at $10K before the way to $20K. I assumed $10K would be the peak as did most people and was wrong.

In my opinion bitcoin price will be very difficult to return to the $ 20000 level, the current bitcoin price is at $ 9300 and still in the bear market.

For those people who are sold their bitcoin when the price reached 20k dollars are very lucky because the price decreased more than 50 percent from december until today. But it is good because you can gain more profit if you buy today and hold it. But better to invest only the money extra incase the price decrease more you can buy bitcoin again.

When BTC hit his ATH, I was tempting to sell half of my BTC, but didn't have the time at that moment to do it. The day after prices dropped and dropped lol  ;D. Oh well, I am a long term holder and hopefully we will see a new ATH this year.

Haven't sold at ATH. I'm HODLing it and trying to avoid swing trading as much as possible as I find it to be too risky. At least for me at this point with the market being so volatile.

As long we do profit theres nothing to regret even though we missed up that ATH sell off which is normal because we do have different thoughts on those times. We might even think of to FOMO which is really a big mistake to be done.Myself did able to sell out earlier which i do see bitcoin hit up $17k on its price and didnt expect to rise even more to 20 but its alright yet we do benefited on such price movements. This time i didnt missed again on buying up the lowest price for this years which is on 6k range.

Good for you buddy. It's a smart habit to short a portion of your holdings during a bull run. Having cash at exchanges is what most people forget about. It's the best way to earn a lot of money in a bear market. Sell when green, buy when red..people usually behave the other way around.

I sold part of my bitcoin when it was in the $17-$18k peak. It was a good profit for me and bought it back when it fall down to $8k. In fact I bought more than double of what I had sold earlier. I guess its worth the effort I put into research all these things.

You got too too lucky if you have done that in reality! Thats a good job as you were already in profit and what you invested was just the profits and that too a small portion of it I guess. So you have to loose nothing here as you already hold the profitable share from the last BTC sell.

You can actually get yourself more BTC at this rate also as it is far less price than the highest peak at which you sold. You can adjust more profits if you buy at this point. Speaking about the reaching 20K peak I think we can do that very easily and we already on the verge of it so sit tight.

Youbare lucky yo sell all your bitcoin during the peak. I was not able to do so because I thought bitcoin will continue to grow more. No one will know if when bitcoin price will drop or increase, so I guess you are one lucky dude to sell during the peak. It is a good time to buy back now because anytime soon the price will reach a new ATH again.

This happens generally because people avoid buying in the falling market instead they buy at rising market. Thus if you keep following it, this is what happens hope so you had bought when market had being for 7k or near that so that you can average out the price and once it reaches 15k+  you are in good profit.

You know how I am feeling about him right now? He is the luckiest person in crypto world and smartest one too because he sold out his BTC when it was at its peak. He must have earned amazing profits. Many people sold out their coin when it reached 20k dollars due to which dip appeared. The decline stayed for longer than expected and there was panic selling out also. I hope he earns such profits again.

Not necessarily, while this could be the product of skill there are people that just get lucky and enter and get out of the market at the perfect time, with so many traders and people investing in bitcoin it is bound to happen, but if you relied on your luck to do that then it is very likely that you're never going to be able to do that again, in fact I have never gotten in the market at the very bottom or got out of the market at the very top.

I don't think that constant is the right term here. Its fluctuating between $8K-$10K if that is what you meant. It make take time to reach $20K again, but eventually we will all gonna see it happen again. No one has though that bitcoin could even go as high as $5K last year, but we almost went and concluded the year at almost $20K so everything is possible.


Lucky you. I'm sure that a lot has also sold that time when it reaches all-time-high, FOMO was real that time. Just sad though we join late and then panic and sold everything when it dip in the last 3 months.

You are lucky enough to sold at ATH price, I sell bitcoin when the price starts to show a decrease in bitcoin, at least I can still get a profit, for when the price will reach $ 20k no one knows, even today also the market is still up and down in the price range $ 8k- $ 10k

I should also have done the same. I was stuck in cloud 9 because after btc spiked in $20k, altcoins followed so my mind just told me to hold a bit more because it will still go higher.

To learn more about technical analysis will help to understanding price action of BTC and also by look in to market capitalization we will know how big the demand. I think trading not about lucky but more knowledge and also should be extra patient.

I think not many people can sell it at that price in january but if its true you are lucky guy and i think now is time to but it again and make another profit when it hit $50k or more. I think you have made a very accurate decision, you can see that the price of bitcoin after the gas hit $ 20k, then immediately plummeted and fell to the $ 600 level. Currently bitcoin is at $ 8,000, according to my technical analysis, the bitcoin price may reach $ 1000 by the end of 2018. So you should not invest long term in bitcoi at this point.

Yes, you are lucky and make a right decision because a lot of people regret that they are not sell their bitcoin In 20k because when bitcoin touch 20k, they are thinking bitcoin Will reach a higher price but the fact is until now bitcoin is not reach 20k yet and we never know that bitcoin Will reach 20k again or not. For me, i thought the price would shoot further break another all time high that's why i hodl my bitcoins but it slowly plunged after that. i got greedy but it's okay my investment is not that big after all.

While it is obvious that is better that you earn money by taking the right decision and knowing exactly why you took that decision, at the same time a win is a win, it doesn't matter if you were just lucky the money in your pocket have the same value as if you won that money through skill, so even if you sold at the very top of the market because you were lucky that is still a great achievement.

I think it is a right and good to do, to sold all your bitcoin at twenty thousand US dollar peak to be profitable in this kind of business and industry
because after that peak they called their a times that after peak the value of bitcoins is getting low in the market.

This is good decisions sold all your bitcoin at $20k price then buy during in down value. Many of us had a regret when didnt have the time to sell their btc . So it is really a good decisions to do in trading.

No one has ever entered the btc trade at the right lowest of Its low. It is always on the hindsight that we get to know we didn't get in at the right time. The OP sold off at the right ATH but also bought in back high. It may take quite a while for bitcoin to reach that $12,000 level within the next few months. Lucky , if you have no idea what are you doing then it's clearly about luck. Some people know already that back in few months ago where Bitcoin price got pumped and people feel so hype keep buying it but forgot to set some limit as it goes bubble , it's anticipated to sell your Bitcoin at the ath and buyback later on the near dips when you know things technically and fundamentally. It would be a great feeling to do that , considering he has no idea about that too.

I am sure that the growth of Bitcoin is above $ 100k, because now it feels very difficult to get Bitcoin.

Yes, people who sold the Bitcoin at a very high price will be buying bitcoin back at $6k will give more bitcoins. People who bought the bitcoins at the very low price will be making a profit already.

I bet you feel very lucky and you feel smarter than the others. Good job, because you did not dwell on your emotions and you are focus on the profits. You are lucky to be able to sell bitcoin at peak which is a good thing. You later rebought at 12k. Its a good price though judging from how the market has gone down significantly and also, many persons are holding bitocin they bought at 18k-19k and some have taken the loss and sold off their bitcoin. I don`t believe that OP sold his bitcoins at peak. If he sold anything it was couple mBTC-s, not more than that. And I don`t understand the point of this topic, he sold and bought again, its trading, what he wish to do with it in speculation section? He call for recovery? This phenomenon of buying and selling of bitcoin proves that holding play a vital role in trading if you have patience to hold your coins for 5-6 months then you will have a chance to get huge profit. A wise trader always prefer holding over selling if price is low so hold bitcoins for more 2-3 months you will get good profit.

You are one lucky dude to sold your bitcoin on it's ATH. It is not always the case to everyone here in crypto world. There are those who bought at $20K and now they regret what had happen. Volatility at it's best.

You are some of a lucky guys who sell at that peak of price back in december 2017 i do hold a small amount of bitcoin that time but not lucky to sell it in a peak of price because i realy need money that time so i sold it in around 15,000$ only.

The price of 20k is definitely not the highest price of BTC, so you sold your BTC at a high price in the early days, but if you look at the historical trend of BTC, its price will always go up.

With that price of $15k I will also grab that profitable price when I really need it badly during emergency times. If you're in financial issues you can't prevent or control your emotions, that weakens your hands to sell your holdings. But if you only think of selling what you only need, then sell half of it and not s a whole amount of btc.

Selling at $20k peak is great though, all kidding and anger aside from people, just try to focus on that win. I hope you also bought when it reached $5.8k levels or so. That way you could have a lot more bitcoin with you, at the same amount of dollar you could probably get 200% or so more bitcoins this time around and if you sell that when it reaches to $20k once again that can be a life changing amount for most people. Just because you got right once, don't stop, keep trading, if you get right couple more times your life can be something whole different.

If you have not bought back yet then at least current levels must be the good levels to enter back. If $20k was your life time achievement with bitcoin savings then you may go for other investments or may go for taking care of life's other things. In the past it had happened with many early adopters who have sold their 1000s of bitcoins for $10 / $50 $100 / $250 / $1000 levels. Youre just lucky and made a right decisions selling AT THE HYPE and you should have bought this season when bitclon plays at $6,000-$7,000 because that $12,000 price is too high compared today.you can save $5,000 pr btc if you did wait for a couple of months

Congratulations, but remember that what's most difficult in trading, and specially in bitcoin, it's not if you manage to sell at the top, but when you re-enter the market in the lowest point possible. This is where a lot of people screw up and eventually they are left behind as the price goes to ATH and they still didn't buy in due perpetually expecting a perfect price. Others do buy in, but the crash continues, and they end up losing money. It's a very complex mental game. This is why a lot of people that sold at $1300 and thought they were geniuses and didn't buy back, now hate themselves looking at how it went to $20k and their sell point will ever be seen again.

You should have a plan and consider when to buy back. Triple bottom scenario still at play. Might be a good idea to buy some in case we go to ATH, and leave a nice chunk of fiat in case we go lower again.

Hold the bitcoin you have, and desperately need the patience to wait for bitcoin at $ 20,000. The market today is falling, the market is bound to rise, but it will take a long time to reach $ 20,000. Possible in the year 2020 - 2021 new bitcoin can reach $ 20,000 back.

If you wait longer and the price falls down to $2000 (not implying that it will happen, it's just an example) you could have "saved" $10,000. I sold in smaller fractions all the way to $18,000 and started buying back in smaller fractions, which is pretty effective. The last time that i bought some bitcoins was when it was aproximately $8000 each one of them on October or Nov if i am not wrong, and i sold at $15,000, it was a good move.

OP you are lucky and by selling most of it on $20,000 while buying back @ $12,000 still you are in good shape.

You only have to wait until it goes back to $12,000 or more. While others are very salty that never sold any btc on $20,000 and chose not to support it anymore.

I sold few not really a whole btc but only fraction of it.

If you have that type of faith like others that believes it can reach new all time high again then you can step in to the market and buy at red now.

For those who sell into those peak price then I do consider it lucky and for those who haven't I do consider greedy. Even buying back on 12k wont really be still a loss yet we are already on 8k price and soon we would able to hit up that 12k price again but the question is on when but somehow we can assure that we do head on that way. For those who bought on the dip selling this time will be still ideal but if we do go for long term then its still a good path.
