Title: 198 BTC 4 SALE! [LE PAYPAL]
Post by: MiddleMan on August 06, 2011, 01:29:36 AM
Greetings,

I would love to sell 198 BTC on this forum. I have no intention of keeping them, Bitcoin looks like it keeps going down and up to often. Don't feel like risking it anymore.\

Stock picture: http://i.min.us/ijlSdy.png

Bulk (25+) is only $9.10/each coin!
Super Bulk (50+) is only $9/each coin!
Ultra Bulk (100+) is only $8.50/each coin!
All In (198) is only $8/each coin!

Why is that?

You could get chargedback by some asshole and lose your coins. There's a sticky in this subforum about it. I'm just giving you a friendly warning.

If I remember right Paypal won't let you charge back for virtual goods.  I'd buy 198 btc for 8 bucks each, but I'd like to use something more secure than paypal for such a large transaction.  Got burned for two BTC once because of paypal.  The guy said he would sell me 40 btc.  Lucky thing is told him I would only buy it in exponentially growing chunks starting by only buying two btc, to four, to eight ect...  I sent him the small payment for the two btc and he ran with it.  Because of the nature of the transaction PP wouldn't charge back.

We'll buy all of them, for only a 3% fee ($9.50 each at current MtGox prices)! Go to Get-Bitcoin.com (http://get-bitcoin.com), or you can email us at admin@get-bitcoin.com to arrange the transaction privately.

Lol,I made this EXACT recommendation to the current user through messaging but he wanted to do a larger transaction instead by paying $100 @ a time. The user instead wanted me to pay first instead of sending me Bitcoin first while I pay for it it on scaled basis as trust would ensue on something a bit larger.I think its best to be cautious concerning this or use an escrow.

Bunin tried to scam me multiple times. He charged back PayPal, and then he tricked me by sending a false WMZ payment. Warning! Do not trade this member. He is now threatening to "bust" me, and is accusing me of being another member.

11BTC for $8 each. Doesnt sound anywhere near as large as yours. Very odd, I really hope this isn't a sham.

Ok my patience is thin. When I wanted to buy, it was no problem getting responses directly to me. Now after I sent the money, barely any response and very generic ones too.

MiddleMan, whats up, where are we at, why have ai not gotten my BTC? This is supposrd to be instant.
Thank god this is Paypal so I can chargeback if need be. People who abuse charhebak is one thing but to hate Paypal for it is absurd. I think i just got jipped and I may need it.

Oh good lord. My first time buying BTC and I get a fast one pulled on me. Brilliant.

5 more minutes MiddleMan and I'm claiming on Paypal. Whether it makes me look bad for some reason or not.

EDIT:
According to dungoofdd@hotmail.com, - he made the request on eWallet and is awaiting for it to sent out the BTC. So I'll give it so more time before I do it. He claims that he used his friends Paypal to make the transaction with me instead. So I'm a bit weary but now that I have a response I'll hold out a bit longer. Not sure why he can't just respond in the thread.

WTF,Did no one read my posts earlier in the thread,WTF ? The fact he didn't respond to the allegations should have said something and though me placing a message here was enough guess some didn't see it.

I inquired him directly about it an he came up with a story about how you tried to use chargeback on a transaction when he had sent it.

Sorry I did not heed your warning and appreciate it. I just didnt see any evidnce of such abuse. Now Im in this situation because of my igorance I understand.

My idea was for him to send the bitcoins first in a small sum starting out with 1 then I would give him money for the transaction but he was insisting on me sending money first and didn't want to do small amounts.
I inquired him directly about it an he came up with a story about how you tried to use chargeback on a transaction when he had sent it.

Sorry I did not heed your warning and appreciate it. I just didnt see any evidnce of such abuse. Now Im in this situation because of my igorance I understand.
It's not a problem at all,I think trust is always the issue here hence why you don't see too many members especially those that have garnered as trusted don't initiate business with anyone new really which I have found out by reading these forums. There IS a huge scam base here and steps should be taken in order to limit that issue if you know how.

I NEVER initiated any payment whatsoever because I am was not going to initiate any payment for anything unless trust can be built in stages...If someone doesn't want to or have the patience for that then simply they have a huge immediacy problem and should be considered a red flag of doing business with.

Nowhere. What you are asking for is literally impossible, at least for person-to-person transactions. All you can do is check the user's reputation and use a reputable escrow. If you don't want to do that, all you can do is use an exchange, which I know isn't the answer you wanted to hear.

Good question, nobody is really reputable anymore. There use to be Gavin's escrow, ClearCoin, but he shut that down. You can try BTCrow, but don't be suprised if, once they gain more volume, they just decide to take everyone's coins and run like MyBitcoin did*.

*Don't even try arguing this, the technicals confirm it.

https://mybitsafe.com/ and http://eptiv.com/ are the main ones I'm familiar with.
I'm not sure how trustworthy they are.

Please note, there is no escrow or any way to make PayPal payments safe. Payments can be disputed 60 days after you received them, or longer than that if the payment was made from a credit card. Consider that stolen credit cards can be used to make these PayPal payments to you. Trading digital currency is against PayPal's policy, and complaining to PayPal about not receiving your BTC or having your payment reversed is just as likely to get your account frozen.

I've always wondered though, why doesn't the site have a built-in escrow service w/ a built-in feedback option instead of outsourcing to tertiary forum holders ? It seems quite logical and could save a lot of patience about trust issues....not to mention it could promote the ideal of Bitcoin a whole lot quicker knowing that there is at least some foundation for a more secure transaction even if by appearance like what paypal did for Ebay.

wow... I first read this with my cellphone and was very surprised that someone say that. Then once I logged on my computer I saw that you were a moderator on this forum... I'm very very surprised that a moderator try to harm my business made to help others from scammers and have already made good and big transactions over 80 BTC...

This is a very bad practice you did today. It's a false accusation and lead potentials users to not use it and getting scammed again by other malicious people such as MiddleMan.

I don't know if you're just mad because you loose your bitcoins with MyBitcoin and you loose faith in bitcoin, but what I can ensure is that you have absolutely no reason of saying this and trying to harm my business...

Reported to ... ahhh sure you're a moderator you just gonna ignore this reporting ...

I have only respect for your business. However, you have to agree that you nor any other escrow service currently out there is actually as reputable as an escrow service should be.

That being said, I will probably still use you in any transaction that requires me to use an escrow, just because you're the best we have.

Because we're already a large central point of failure. The community needs to decentralize, and that would make the issue worse.

Thanks for this clarification, that's what I was expecting to receive as reply by a reputable member of this community, especially a mod.

In the meantime I would like to let people know how much and how big transaction have been made using my escrow service to be more transparent, but I let the users decide if they wanna post feedback on this forum, and don't want to violate their privacy, so the only thing I could do in my opinion to have more reputation is waiting and the time will help my business and in the same time the bitcoin comunity.

If you have idea on how to get more reputation (in long or short term) I would be really happy to hear from you.

Thanks
Jules

I reached the max private message limit, who ever just sent me PayPal will receive their Bitcoin's within 10 minutes!

Am I the only one who realized during this whole thread that this guy said he maxed out his inbox in a matter of 6 days? That's obvious scammer activity. I realize he's labeled as a scammer now, but there were still people tryin to trade with him after that post lol.
