Title: [2018-05-02] Bitcoin Cash Wiki Article Suffers From Edit Warring and Vandalism
Post by: limek on May 02, 2018, 06:15:08 AM
There’s a constant feud these days between Bitcoin Core (BTC) supporters and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) proponents right down to the nitty-gritty of nearly every topic in the space, and the arguments continue to this day, relentlessly. One such example is the Bitcoin Cash article hosted on Wiki has been page protected for a couple weeks now for “vandalism.”

Bitcoin Cash Wiki Article Gets Locked Down Due to Constant Vandalism

The Wikipedia website is a collaborative effort that allows anyone to edit and contribute additions to Wiki articles for the sake of documenting history online. So often times subjects are edited by anyone online but, if the subject is contentious, an ‘editing war’ can erupt. This means editors argue about the neutrality of the article and Wiki’s dispute resolution services come into play. Right now this is taking place at the Bitcoin Cash article found on Wiki and the page displays a warning about the contention.

This shows people the anger and hatred that are building against BCash, because they are sabotaging Bitcoin <BTC>

If they stop with their shady marketing gimmicks to promote BCash as the original Bitcoin, then things like this would not happen on other platforms. These so-called "Vandalists" are just fighting for the truth, which is that Bitcoin <BTC> are the original coin.

Roger Ver and his fanboys should just accept that and market it as a fork from the original coin and build on that. They should stop being like parasites, sucking the life out of the host. <BTC>

Edit wars are inevitable in any collaborative effort like Wikipedia. Roger Ver has stopped making the claim that Bitcoin Cash is the real Bitcoin on his website. Maybe the wiki wars will stop soon too.

It is clear to anyone who knows the history and technology that Bitcoin BTC is inaccurately using the Bitcoin name and has forked to Segwit technology and is no longer bitcoin or even a cryptocurrency.

It's unbelievable that these bitcoin cash guys continue to confuse people and want to destroy bitcoin. it is not good to be manipulating people... on your site it is very visible that they are constantly manipulating people. in the last months the level of manipulation has become very high and I stopped reading the news of that site. I do not know anything about vandalism, maybe someone noticed that these BCH guys were lying or posted fake information and people tried to fix it... People need to be clear that bitcoin cash is an altcoin

I was aware that there was a lot of feuding going on, but am actually quite surprised it's even reached outside the pettiness of forums and reddit to even Wikipedia. Not about to tell people what to do, though, just quite, quite surprised that it'd reached that extent. In any case, if it is one less avenue for the irresponsible misinformation on Bitcoin, I couldn't be happier.

And Ver retracting the claims for Bitcoin Cash? Sounds uncharacteristic. Replacing the old claims or just realising that he shouldn't claim anything?
