Fresh update about Ethereum Network from Vitalik Buterin:
"The scaling of the Ethereum network is almost complete, says the creator of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin.
Ethereum will interact with each other. This method of shading mostly implies the separation of Ethereum into parallel networks in order to increase the efficiency of the blockchain, which will help reduce the load on the network. Very exciting. If ETH is really going to be upgraded it will definitely grow in value. Perhaps, it's a good time to invest in this coin. However, the upgrade might not happen very soon, because of this statement:

"The developer spoke about the new sharding code, which will be integrated into the network after the transition of the Etherium to the Proof-of-Stake protocols (Casper)."

If these two events are really bound, the upgrade will not probably occur this or even the next year.

This sounds nice. Even though for now transaction fees are usually reasonable (if some exchanges don't set crazy gas fees) and fast, if ethereum's adoption grows, it can become vulnerable to what happened with btc during ATH. If this distribution is going to ease this problem, it is indeed a fine improvement. However, it is not enough to make eth going, because the unprofitability of mining with potential decrease of profitability rather soon is not stimulating people to join the network yet.

Looks like Ripple development team will introduce it's own smart contract system called Codius.
That system will give Ripple (XRP) Ethereum-like functionality, providing users smart contracts secured by the Ripple blockchain.
Now XRP seriously targeting to take Ethereum's place.

JAJAJA another shiller of ripple centralized coin. You should say to the ripple ceo and he must shut the fuck up and stop to ask when regulation is complete again and again to the regulators. Smartcontract an ethereum idea. What just happened with the real innovation of ripple? is it gonna die? 

I dont know why people do still pursue to replace ETH into its current place specially mentioning about Ripple. Quite interesting that ETH would have its sharding which we can presume network would even more better as of the current state and as mentioned above it might not happen on this year or on next year which means it would still takes time but good to know this news after all.

This event will seriously increase the competitiveness of the Ethereum. Perhaps in the near future Ethereum will overtake even the cryptocurrency of bitcoin by total capitalization. I'm sure that Eth developers will not stop there. The Ethereum shows by its example, sets the level of how the cryptocurrencies should develop.

this is good news for future development of ethereum, i hope with update from butterin can give positive impact to ethereum project and also ethereum price in market, just hold and buy again as much as you can until update from butterin arrive.

Vitalik Buterin really smart boy. After upgrade systems the rate of Ethereum can increase. Ethereum already has a strong position in the crypto business today. I think until june the rate of Ethereum will be more than 1000$.

This is a great idea and huge development of ETH by Buterin. I see Vitalik as a very smart guy making this possible. Obviously, the upgrade would surely hike ETH price and would be big time positivity for Ethereum Network. #justmyopinion

I think title is a bit misleading, he drafted a proof of concept to implement sharding in the current eth main chain, however they will likely wait to PoS switch to implement it as that will lead to much less complications.
So yeah, it's probably not that "soon" ...

Finally, by the time being, Ethereum has been largely used for so many ICO to deploy its own token therefore if the devs just let it be without significant changes, pretty sure the network won't hold and as a result network delay.
It's such a great thing, especially if it can reduce the Gas needed for each transactions too. Can't wait to see the significant change vitalik brought with all these things.

Now it's very impossible that ethereum will leaves it's place as the second from BTC in world of crypto currencies with this improvement being actualized, where would be the gap from eth and ripple and other alts with this? Maybe the specs about eth will come to a reality, 10k USD or more it's not a bad thing right?

Looking at the current Ethereum trade volumes it's even hard to imagine how ETH will jump after network update distribution! Which of course will trigger another wave of ICOs.

we will wait more info about that, but at the moment i just care about ETH mining by POS .

I would never bet against Vitalik. He is one of the wonder kids in the blockchain space. Ethereum is a strong buy as always! First competition I see right now is Matrix but that is somewhat down the road.

Pleased to hear that my a favorite ethereum evolves and expands their opportunities,  and is growing in price. No ripple will not replace it. I hope all the innovations in the network the broadcast would be useful for the users and not just speculators.

Tokens are already with the support of ethereum network only but I am not sure blockchain network will be share with the ethereum for the transaction has been falls up mate. Please segwit it more instead of using the ethereum network expansion.
If they add the ethereum network to reduce the tokens I do not think that it will work better.

I am totally disagree with this , Casper will happen much sooner than it was planned for , for one simple reason Bitmain minners . Ethereum will move to POS very soon  it might even be before Q4 of this year . Either way ETH is a coin to hold hard for the upcoming years that is for sure . 

I wonder how this new Ethereum POS update, called Casper, will compete with Ouroboros, POS platform planned by Cardano? Which one will appear more successful?

A new version of the code of Casper, a planned improvement to the Ethereum network’s economic consensus protocol, has been released by developers May 8. The Hybrid Casper FFG (Friendly Finality Gadget) will reportedly combine Proof-of-Work with Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus, with the goal of eventually transitioning to PoS.

Looking forward to try how fast this Casper is. Today many of ETH transactions take up to 30 minutes to complete.

I'm not so sure ethereum will be overtaking bitcoin, with it's infinite supply and centralized way of decision making (dao hack).
And with bitcoin introducing LN and maybe even smart contracts of their own in a later stage, I just can't see it happening.

Those are really good news but I'm not sure that "soon" is like somewhere during this year. This is a planned update to the ethereum network but it is taking some time to become alive. The same thing was/is for the lightning network. Things seem to be gaining pace for bitcoin and LN, but we still need to see if the same thing will happen to ether and sharding. Right now, it looks to me that LN will happen sooner than sharding, but let's wait and see.

Still very good news for the crypto space, because we really need the scalability issues of both ether and BTC, to see crypto really gaining it's space in our lives.

Ripple will take Ethereum's place? Are they drunk?, there are many platforms that provide smart contract features such as Waves, NEO, and so on, they've been trying it for a long time but until now they have not succeeded. and now XRP centralized coin wants to compete on smart contract platforms? are they tired to looking for a bank that wants to use that centralized coin?

I sense a big pump with this news. As I expected, Buterin will not let  Ethereum overtake by other altcoins. There will be a race of Smart contract platform this year. Let's see who will be the winner at the end of this year.

I noticed that Ethereum network became very slow last days and trasactions to exchanges last for many hours!

Interesting update comes from Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) today.

They just released the Enterprise Ethereum Client Specification version 1.0.
It will enable interoperability for companies that use Ethereum blockchain-based solutions.
This Client Specification makes Ethereum more transparent and safe, which should attract commitments from bigger players.

I thought Ethereum will just be leaning on the price of Bitcoin cause every time BTC falls then ETH will be next.
A stand alone coin will be most likely be a good investment for many investor. I myself will be one.

Thanks to the author for the news, indeed, if this ETH improvement is done, this will only have a positive impact both on the platform itself and on the price of the ETH itself. Thats amazon news, finally they are scaling up the ETH and making it stand out even bold than previous one. It would be such nice to see this implementation as it will help end users like ICO's to rely on ETH with full confidence now. This can change the ETH market cap drastically and there will no be surprise if ETH moves above prices of 2500 as expected at the beginning of the year. Now I trust this statement completely after reading this update regarding the ETH. Thats a really good share mate and hope that this update will be reality sooner than we think.

It is high time.  Etherim is a promising coin, and most importantly, it is constantly being updated!

This upgrade is so important because Ethereum is still vulnerable due to the centralized mining.

In my opinion, Buterin will not let Ethereum take over another altcoin. There will be a Smart contract platform race this year.
If they add Ethereum network to reduce token I do not think that it will work better. I hope the future there is better news from this.

In my opinion, I think it's hard for Cardano to compete with Ethereum. I heard that Cardano still has an issue with their wallet. Then, there are still a few projects that use Cardano platform.

Right, in the medium-term Cardano won't be able to to compete Ethereum.

If to be brief:

With Proof-of-Work, anyone who amasses enough ASIC chips and farms to control a large amount of hashing power can use those resources to continue attacking the network even after a failed attempt. So mining farms could be used to repeatedly attack the network.
 
With Proof-of-Stake, this is much harder. As Ethereum researcher Vlad Zamfir says, when you try to participate in a 51% attack, “it’s as though your ASIC farm burned down.”

I would not say that the commissions are expensive now! And the update is theoretically possible to increase the cost of ETH! How time will actually tell

Does it mean that 32 ETH deposit will be enough to become a node?  :)
