Title: Bitcoin and artificial intelligence - Preventative actions.
Post by: Kprawn on May 02, 2018, 02:59:31 PM
I am busy reading a book, called Humans, Bow Down written by James Patterson, Emily Raymond and Jill Dembowski.

Plot Summary : In a world run by machines, humans are an endangered species. The Great War is over. The robots have

won.

Now, usually I am not bothered with futuristic science fiction books, but everything Patterson must be good, so I

started reading it.  ;D

This got me thinking, What IF, artificial intelligence managed to take over the world, like the robots in this book. Would a

electronic cash systems, like Bitcoin and other Crypto currencies, not make it easier for these robots to control the worlds

financial systems? What counter measures do we have, built into the protocol, to prevent this? Or, would we have to resort

back to the Fiat {Cash} system to take back the control? Simply switching off the power will not solve the problem, so we

will have to find other methods to protect our wealth. {This will be a bigger problem for centralized financial networks}

So how would you stop AI controlled robots or even humans with evil intent, to take full control over the Bitcoin network?

Let's see what you can come up with this one.  ;)

You didn't know?

Bitcoin was invented by AI in order to harvest the GPU energy and making BTC more valuable so that it can grow.

 :o

Although its likely this is untrue, it does make for a pretty fascinating story on how AI could potentially manipulate humans in order for it to grow.

I think AI would be a blessing, I don't usually fear having to fight robots, well not anymore than having to fight zombies.

Ok, none of this tinfoil hat nonsense now, let's look at the second scenario if the first scenario is too far fetched for you.

Let's say, someone managed to fire up 100 000 full nodes and took control of the Bitcoin network and also the development.

Would we fork off and begin a new coin or do we have a "Kill switch" to prevent these kinds of scenarios? The rights to the

network, lie in the hands that maintain it or the network of nodes that are running the network... right. Would commit access

stay in the current hands... if someone else is in control of 90% or more of the network of nodes and most of the hashing

 power, take control.   ???

nice. a few days ago i had a similar thought and now i read this thread. i thought that if an ai wants to take over the financial sector, bitcoin would be the perfect tool for that. if all humans and states would accept bitcoin as currency, the ai would be very rich. of course, only if the ai is behind the name satoshi and has his coins.  :o
