We have a huge pile of Kingston DataTraveler 4GB flash drives. They're very fast, reliable and cheap. Newegg is currently sold out of them (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139250&Tpk=20-139-250) but they usually sell for $8/ea. Ours have been used during a server build out project, where we had to boot some servers up for testing before we had "real storage" installed on them. In total, they were reformatted and had an OS installed on them, ran for 2-3 weeks this way, then securely wiped and reformatted back to being empty. None have reported any errors at all. They have a manufacturer warranty for 5 years. I have no reason to believe there is anything wrong with these drives, and guarantee they won't be DOA, but they are being sold AS-IS because of the low price.
