Title: NSA Spied On Porn Habits As Part Of Plan To Discredit 'Radicalizers'
Post by: Wilikon on November 27, 2013, 05:51:10 PM
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/26/nsa-porn-muslims_n_4346128.html

The National Security Agency has been gathering records of online sexual activity and evidence of visits to pornographic websites as part of a proposed plan to harm the reputations of those whom the agency believes are radicalizing others through incendiary speeches, according to a top-secret NSA document. The document, provided by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, identifies six targets, all Muslims, as “exemplars” of how “personal vulnerabilities” can be learned through electronic surveillance, and then exploited to undermine a target’s credibility, reputation and authority.

The NSA document, dated Oct. 3, 2012, repeatedly refers to the power of charges of hypocrisy to undermine such a messenger. “A previous SIGINT” — or signals intelligence, the interception of communications — “assessment report on radicalization indicated that radicalizers appear to be particularly vulnerable in the area of authority when their private and public behaviors are not consistent,” the document argues.

Among the vulnerabilities listed by the NSA that can be effectively exploited are “viewing sexually explicit material online” and “using sexually explicit persuasive language when communicating with inexperienced young girls.”

The Director of the National Security Agency — described as “DIRNSA” — is listed as the “originator” of the document.

That's really funny actually because it could easily work, however they're going to have to come up with something for those of us who are openly perverted like me :D

we should all be spartacus.. or what's the plural form? spartacii? and just tell everybody what porn we jerk off to.

dear NSA: i like milf porn. that's right, i like watching porn where your mom, wife or sister are getting banged.. ethnicity is not a big issue. oh and i often fast forward to the money shot for the climax. my preference for porn is now public, you don't control me!

But why would anyone care what variety of porn someone watches?  I can't imagine it hugely changing my opinion of anyone.
If someone brings up a good political point, I don't mind if they like watching some messed up stuff on their off time!

this is not just theory.  As part of the Iraq war preparations, they discreditted this whistleblower.

Well it may not be a big deal to us open minded people but when it comes to religious people it will completely stun them because they genuinely believe their leaders' bullshit about abstinence and no sex before marriage etc. we may know better but religious people have had it knocked into their heads at an early age that their leaders are incorruptible and always right usually by their own parents.

This is not what it is about. This is a weapon to shut you up. I give you an example. Let's say you are a journalist, you have access to the WH and love porn. The WH knows about your porn habit. What would happen if a government faceless dude comes to you and say "Drop that article about the president next week or..."

Yeah but my point is if your open about it and people already know it's kind of a wasted exercise to begin with isn't it?

1) Obviously the people they were spying on are not open about it. It might not eliminate dissent but it sure can limit it.

2) If the NSA can just get you to willingly post all your information in public out of fear of blackmail by the government I'm pretty sure they just won. Their goal is systems intelligence.

3) If I'm like oh look Mr. Jones, your file says you watch x, y, and z porn. I'm going to for sure start wondering what else they know.

4) My friends knowing and the public knowing are very different.

Unfortunately this is not how a lot of people think. :(

I don't think they will threaten me with this kind of information, but I probably would say "Go ahead, maybe I can add some things you clearly missed?".
I think a presidential candidate would say something different and a whistleblower can be hugely discredited by such things.

Yes but that is not reality. It should not matter if you are a teacher for high schoolers and write "I love porn" on your resume, next to "growing my own vegetable". But it will impact your interview. ;)

Don't need an interview if you're building you're own business, suckers :P

p.s. On a serious note, this kind of thing is precisely why I decided to go my own way ;) wouldn't have people judging me on my previous education etc.

It doesn't matter what you watch. You can happily go saying that out loud but those guys pretend to be the reincarnation of Buddha in the body of the holy prophet of Asmnan Ash.
Imagine a radical Muslim caught with eating a big mac McRib  :))).

You don't know anything do you?
By most religious zealots , watching porn is Haram (sinful in arab). So , they are sinful by their own laws which they try to impose on others , and by which they try to punish others (include death by stoning).
