Title: Telegram is Reportedly Calling Off Its ICO Plans After Two Funding Rounds
Post by: Pamela1966 on May 03, 2018, 07:59:08 AM
Telegram Group Inc. has canceled its initial coin offering after the popular messaging app raised a record-setting $1.7 billion from a group of less than 200 private investors, the Wall Street Journal reports.
What could be responsible for such move from Telegram founder Pavel Durov ?

Don't believe it until I see some more news about this. Can't imagine why somebody (Telegram) would return that much money after most successful ICO of all times??

Telgram is a nice application especially used by crypto money supporters and investors. After the ICO news, it has increased its popularity even more. We will see together what will happen in the days ahead

This is crazy, $1.7 billion from 200 people, that is a huge sum of money, if a project is just reling on the image and status of the developers to raise that huge sum of money. Personally the cap is too high for me and it is the best decision to take to protect everyone because if the project fails then that will be epic

that is not that much to be honest.
because Soros alone can do that if he want to.
also if you are talking about the failure, you must be wrong in here mate.
as you said before,it was a huge sum of money for people to afford that.
which mean they have something to do and rely on so that was why they could afford to spend all of those money into this project.
and even if this project do not meet public requirement, nothing worry about.
because they could hire a shill expert to pump and raise an attention for their project.
so i could say that it'd be far from those thing called 'failure'

Probably because they don't have any idea how to spend that $1.7 billion dollars. Holding that much money is dangerous and could even get people killed. That would be such immense pressure on the Telegram team especially looking at the fact that they are in the business of developing a simple app compared to other smaller companies who are solving cancer or world hunger. It almost seems like it isn't fair.

It is actually happening. As of now, there is news in google 16 hours ago and 2 10 hours ago. It is from The Verge, Gizmodo, and CCN. I am also sad about this because it is one of the best ICOs that existed so far.

It is not a mere simple app. It is an app used to connect people, and I think it is just fair and just. Those small companies solving cancer or world hunger are only charitable institutions, and telegram on the other hand is a big company in charge of an app used by some companies to have conversations and disseminate information with their employees and clients as well(which is far more important in improving economy). I think them handling that amount of money is fair and just.

Pavel Durov is responsible and reliable person. I`m sure that he will give explanations soon.
Nobody can give him the possibility to escape with such large amount of money  :D

$1.7 billion is not a small result. The responsibility of telegram founder to release the token to the market.
Because it has sold to the less than 200 investors and there is a lot of room for growth.
