Post by: Hippie Tech on November 28, 2013, 04:45:47 PM
If it survives perihelion and /or doesn't slam into our star, we're in for a beautiful show !

That or it will alter its trajectory and head straight for Venus and/or us. :o

I have updated the OP with Secchi's link and the orbital diagram now shows the positions of STEREO A and B.

Comet Ison did not crash into the sun, nor broke apart. You viewed coming outta intact one the other side.

Was it delayed /slowed or did a glitch with the cameras make it seem like that ?

Disintegration well before perihelion ... from the Earth to the Sun) of the Sun, where comets like 1999 S4 and Elenin disintegrated.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. ;)

Notice the apparent symmetry..

That last CME seemed to blow it out like a candle..  What if it simply turned off and became an asteroid ?

P2013/P5 went comet not that long ago..  http://youtu.be/s9HPVMw1IN0

This is not how a normal debris field behaves. Notice how the 'v' shape remains constant as it fades.

NikolaTeslasGhost's vid shows little or no fading... hmm..
