I was just wondering how long you guys plan to hold on to your top cryptos. Right now my plan is to hold on for at least 3-5 years. But that could all change depending on where the market goes. If there is serious mass adoption, I wouldn't mind holding for longer. I will probably hold on to LTC for the longest.

I perceive cryptocurrencies as a very good way to invest their funds in the long term. I really hope that in the future cryptocurrencies will be able to become a part of life for many people. But if this system starts to break down I don't think it's worth waiting until the last.

As per how long to hold my top crypto,  it is is predicated on what the market looks like at the moment that will determine how long I will wait till I trade my coins for Fiat.

Same here! It's best to keep up with the news and get various peoples opinion. Def not worth waiting until the last. Best to keep a constant look out. But hopefully we are many many years away from any sort of collapse of cryptos.

I have a similar strategy, all the news about crypto adoption around the world and the interest of banks and investment funds in crypto makes me feel optimistic about the future.

It is quite difficult to put a timeframe on how long you will hold a coin, it will depend on where the coin is at in their development and what the market looks like.

Myself I will hold onto my top coins until I feel I need to sell either due to personal finance or if It looks like they have reached their peak.

There is no ETA how long i will hold or keep my token in my wallet, but there is a clue when i will try to sold them all to the market. When my portfolio worth more than a million dollars and i will try to sold them all and try to invest in another potential coin again and that's a very good strategy also.

Its hard to say but, i've planned if the coins i hold reach the new ATH again, i will sell them some. What happen in the last year, really give me a lesson that its ao hard to reach new ATH and im just worried its only happen once a year.

Are you seriously going to do that ? 3-5 years is too much but if you are sure about the coins you are holding go on,but make sure that those coins are good for long term as you are going to waste your time and effort if these coins you have invested arent for long term holds,i am planning to take profits if i am given a chance.

I want to hold my crypto for a long time, I think I will hold my crypto 2-3 years, I will only sell it when the price of crypto makes me get a big profit, if you want to hold Litecoin, I will hold my Ethereum for a long time.

If you intend to hold cryptos for 3 to 5 years, the most reasonable cryptos can only be BTC because its exchange rate is currently the highest in the market. For me, usually, I just hold about 1 year is maximum because if longer will be difficult because human psychology is natural to be overwhelming lust. If after 1-year exchange rate increases to x10, few people will hold on to that they will sell all the cryptos they own. The LTC hold is not potential because this crypto will have no bright future.

How long does it take to hold crypto? I think the time needed is flexible. It depends on the market situation, if there is a chance to gain profit I will take it off or exchange it.

I really depends on the market, really. And on the whole crypto atmosphere in general. When and if mass adoption happens, then I'm holding as long as I can, but if the whole agenda starts falling apart, then I'm pulling everything out. However, I really hope we will see cryptos rise even more, so that some day, they could replace the existing monetary system and really bring the ownership of assets into the hands of the people.

I am a long-term investor so I have plans to hold my coins for at least 2 years. But only for the crypto that I trust and that has projects that are worthwhile

Everything is relative and may depend on the moment of the market and strategy for a greater victory, ranging from their ambitions and goals. To the subject, holding a coin for 3 years or more may rather be advantageous in term and for this, patience must be a necessary halt and i agree that LTC and  the top 100 can value 10x in the next few years with mass adoption.

I have TIPR i think i hold it for atleast 5 months or 1 year i'm hoping one day that my coin will rising.

Like you, I have a 3-5 year plan for most of my bags, to allow the devs to implement their roadmaps and bring the projects to life.  Only then will we realise the true potential of what we are holding.

Cryptocurrency is a digital it's intanjible. It's easily influenced by people and they affect yours too. My answer is I will hold until I'm satisfied and already have my business in mind. and then i might focus on that business but still i'm into crypto but not as active as now.

Well I am planning to hold them for a minimum of two years or when the prices moon so hard, but minimum is two years so that I will get a huge benefit for my investment and gain more money.

I see if the top crypto has a good potential I will definitely hold in a long time until the highest price because it can serve as a good investment assets to get big profits. so we do not have to sell quickly.

Most of my coins now are recovering in it's price and i'm planning to hold it till the year ends then see what will happen to the crypto world. Maybe this year will have a same result as last year especially in the months of september to december where the price of bitcoin and other altcoins surge high. If that happens again then i will take a good profit from waiting in a long time.

I not have plan to hold in the long run. i want to sell it now and raise capital to assemble pc to mine top crypto.

I'm planning to hold my top cryptos over six months or more. I want to make huge profit on it.

I have no specific date on holding a coin or altcoin. WhenI have a certain  currency to hold im selling it if the price reach my statisfaction. Small profit is good for me or it grrat if big. Im depending on my feeling honestly no skill in touch but gratefully i didnt encounter big losses through my decision

to buy a mining machine requires large capital. do not rush to sell the goods you have. make sure you sell at high prices and profits you get a lot, so it can be used to buy a complete mining tool.

I will not hold the coins that i have for years i always set a limit to my coins when do i go in and when do i go out. Holding of coins based on time is not a very suitable strategy, if you does not have a target in mind the fluctuation in the period of time will kill your portfolio.

I myself never fix how long I have to hodl the coins I have. I always check the market every day. When there is a chance for me to sell my coins, then I will sell. But if it has to be old hodl and be patient, of course I will hodl. And my time is waiting for market conditions to improve again. For coins I often hodl long until now is dash.  I still hodl already about from a year ago, because I see a good chance for this coin in the future. I am still waiting for the price to reach the target that I want new I will sell.

I will hold my possession in my top crypto once I earn my expected profit or else hit the highest price of all time. There are some reasons for holding for a long time of possession in your top cryptos'. Some are waiting for their prospected price or expected profit like me. Some are planning to wait to hit the highest price their crypto. But for me, I stick to my plan to hold it until reaching my expected price and profit then after that I will divert it to other cryptos that have potential to give huge profit to me in the future.

I used to plan to hold the coin I have for as long as I can because when you hold the coin you have in the next year the coin price becomes so expensive that you can get a lot of profits, essentially coin resistant until you get more than 100% .

as long as theres a progress onto your top coins/token, obviously do a HOLD, because in terms of holding a coins/tokens that has a progress/activeness in the market, it is worth to hold and it can generates you a good profits in the future, but if your top coins/tokens dont have any of that progress/activeness, of course let that shit coins/tokens into dump, because it cannot gives you a good result at the end of your patience on it.

This strategy tries to remove the "you" as much as possible from the equation. Don't Sweat the small stuff meaning don't panic when your hodling experienc e short-term movements. When tracking the activities of your hodling, you should look at the big picture. Rememberto be confident in the quality of your hodling rather than nervous about the inevitable volatility of the short-term. Also donn't overemphasize the few cents difference you might save from using a limit vs market order. Pick a strategy and stick with it. means different people use different strategy/methods to pick stocks and fulfill hodling goals. There are so many ways to be successful ando one strategy is inhereatly better than any other. However, once you find your style, stick with it. The one who hodl cryptos flounders between different stock-picking strategies will probably experience the worst rather than the best of each. Constantly switching strategies effectively makes you a market timer, and this is definitely territory most investors should avoid Focus on the future. The tough part about hodling is that we are trying to make informed decisions based on things to come, it's what happen in the future that matters most. You must be open minded. Many great coins are household names, but many good to hold are not househod names.

For a couple of years from now at least. I plan to also buy into them during every bear market and get as much coins as I can afford in all those times. Cryptocurrencies are the future and I don't want to be one of those people who sold off all of their coins and then when cryptos actually rise above everyone's expectations, then they start panic buying.

BTC i can hold a couple of years because last year i missed an opportunity to sell my bitcoins at ATH so this time don't want to repeat it again and altcoins i trust few coins but i will not keep for a long time, i will use my altcoins to trade and try to earn a stable income.

I do not think there's a limit to holding on for how long. if i will take off my coin till the price i want. i will sell now if crypto will die. hopefully the future crypto still victorious and more and more demand.

Personally, I will keep my coins for two years for sure. And then I will look at the state of the crypto-currency market. Maybe I'll hold it even longer. In general, everything will depend on the circumstances.

I have goal price to all of my holding coins when the coins reaches that value I will sell the half of the holdings and I will continue to hold all the remaining coins until crypto currencies can be used in our daily life.

So far, I only holding my Airdrop tokens for 6 months. I just wanna know how long those tokens will survive in the market.

Well, that's a very positive way of holding crypto.
But for my own perspective, not all of my altcoins will do pump that high because every altcoins that I owned were came from signature and other bounty campaigns.
There are some of my altcoins that has the timeline for their crypto project or product executions just like Oyster Pearl PRL as their main net will be launched before this month of May 2018 ends and eventually everyone in the community are very excited.
That way, I will hold my Oyster up to the end of this year because I used it to fund my wedding this coming 4th quarter.

holding your altcoins for half or even a year is better than just selling them too soon as you will no longer have a chance to get higher investment return.

My plan is to hold my top crypto coins for at least one year. I am a long term holder and not a trader, because I have to pa taxes for every trade and I prefer to not pay taxes.. Don't wanna make my country rich with my holdings, the taxes are to expensive!

I will hold it for 6 months and it will not be more than that because altcoin prices are not stable and we will see that the coin we hold may drop drastically then we lose our money.
Six months, in my opinion, is enough because altcoin is affected by Bitcoin prices and nobody can guess where Bitcoin is going to go, whether it is down or up. It affects our estimation value.

My basis of earning crypto, is not actually all the time of holding only, it is all about strategy, and as a investors, the good strategy to invest are when certain coin price you want to invest is at a very low price, and hold it until price grows and even only in a months we can see that the price is good compare to the price the time you invested it, so that's the time to sell it, because it was already a form of profits.

It's too long to hold even 3 years. The market is changing every day and there are lots of laws from different countries about crypto. I think if you want a long term investment you should hold it about 1-1.5 year. In this case you have time to react and look at the market

are you sure you are going for that long? hold in the long run will not be as easy as planned. Maybe when the coins to fall will be the mental challenges will be tested. better set a target price alone when to sell. but of course, everyone's different strategies.

I agree, 3 years is quite a long time to hold a new altcoins that we think will rise in the future, an even a good potential altcoins wont take that long, if the coin that you are holding longer than a year and still without any good progress, then sell them all, it would be better if we know to cut our losses and stop wasting time to invest in some better altcoins, the time is very valuable so we can use our money to invest in new altcoins when they have higher chance to rise in the future.

well its depend on every individual investor . i am holding my btc  last 6 month and i am still hold it at the end of 2018 i am selling my all the coin its my time line .

I invested in the crypto money world and I have been waiting a long time. I do not intend to sell for as long as I am in a very difficult situation and I do not need the money. We will need a lot of time ahead.

I am planning to hold my holdings in crypto currencies until I retire. I consider my long term investment in crypto as my alternative retirement plan. I do not think will hold my coin for that long but I think your choice is the right choice because it could be within 2-5 years then the price of the coin you hold will have a much higher price than the current price because from year to year the price of crypto did have much improvement

It really depends on the value's of every crypto that I'm holding. There are some altcoins that needs to grow and mature so I'll be holding it for like 3-4 years for me to get more profit from it. When it comes to bitcoin I guess I've learned my lesson last year. I need to get or even predict the correct timing of its ATH for this year for me to cash out or even convert it to FIAT and then wait again for it to drop its value the following year. It's always been the trend when it comes to bitcoin so as well as altcoins but I'm just really hoping that I'll be making a very good decision when that time comes.

For 3-5 years, a lot can change. I always check the market, daily. When given a good chance to sell my coins, then I'll sell.

Until now I have no final decision if until when I can hold my crypto currencies, because price of those coins I have are in color red so I just plan to hold it for long period of time until they reach my target value. If project is promising, I'd definately hodl at least one year. But it depends on the project and its product/idea of course. You should follow the team's work, their development, plans and so on.

It depends on the coin or token. sometime coins can not reach the value we expect when buying. I hodl these coins until the're profitable. Highly volatile coins have a short hodling period. If you are hodling more than one coin you can use an app called delta to check your hodling coins and tokens value daily.  

If I invest in crypto I will hold my coin for 2 to 3 years depending on how much the price increases in each year. I am very confident the price of crypto will increase because everyone will get to know crypto.

With mass adoption, I would probably also sell part of my stash. But there are utility tokens I intend to hold forever as that way I can make more money if the platforms work as supposed

I choose a slightly different tactic for my deposit, I trade about 50% of my savings, the remaining 50% lie and periodically buy and sell current coins.

I store some crypto assets such as bitcoin, ethereum, and some altcoin from bounty results. i do not plan so much when to sell my assets, if it's from ico project that became my lowest price is ico price, if it is beyond that then i will sell it. if it's from an asset investment such as bitcoin and ethereum I think when it gives a profit that I think is enough then I will sell.

Personally, I did not set myself a certain barrier and time for storing or selling my coins, I observe the situation in the market and coins. In any case, even if the price of the coin is acceptable in the short term, I will continue to be a part of long-term storage.

my plan to increase the price and value of coins will be great. by holding is indeed very capable to generate substantial profits and affect the price and development of coins. so that the presence of long-term holdings would be profitable even years.

My intention is to hold for 2 years. That's the amount of money I'm saving. Hopefully by 2020, ETH will be up.

I holding until I'm satisfied with the gains. There no need to rush things, if I think this the best time for me to let go of my holding I do with caution.

I am planning to buy and hold the BTC. I plan to hold about 3 years.

I currently have BTC, ETH, and BCH in my coins.ph wallet for hold. I am investing little by little by putting all my claims from faucets into my wallet and the rewards I got from bounty campaigns. I sometimes buy a fraction of these coins and plan to hold it for at least one year onwards depending on the market price or if the price I have set as when to sell has been met.

I have really thought of a definite time of hodling my coins, but when I feel like my coins have gotten to a certain price that I feel comfortable, or satisfied with, then I might trade them, But for now, I'm hodling all my coins for a long term and might even buy more of them.

I am not counting years, I decided not to count years of hold time but instead I will try to wait til the price reach to my target. Well mate it depends on what altcoins I have. If the altcoins that I have is promising and have the chance to rise in the future I will hold maximum of 2 years. Some altcoins that ICO is not successful is not safe if you hold for a long. It will become shitcoins. The more years you hold the more no investors to buy. Some of the altcoins depends on the need of the crypto market and the whole crypto atmosphere.

For me as long i hit my target, thats the signal ill let go what i hold but it depends on the flow of the market, if its on the peak ill let go of it.

Mostly I will hold until I got enough money from the tokens I have. It can be short time and it can be take a very long time. But one thing for sure I will sell as soon as I got good amount of money.

Holding unto cryptos for how long is determined by the movement in price. To me if i hold a crypto which i believe has great future prospect, when i see that the price has risen to the level i want, i will sell and keep my fiat. All of the cryptos I hold are 2-3 year portfolios which I will reassess at that time whether to hold longer. I know a lot of people are anxious to cash out soon, but I think it will take about 2 years for crypto to see its full potential.

There is no exact date or time until when we can hold our top coins. As long as capital of investment have gain huge profit that is the time we will sell it. Since cryptocurrency is very volatile,  always check when you can gain profit and then sell it. 3 to 5 years is too long to hold.

so far, I am holding my top crypto for 2 years although I am selling some of my top coins. actually, in the last 2 years, I don't have any plan to hold the coins but since the market is going to down and even it down too deep, it makes me make a plan to hold the coin until the price can increase back. but I will see if this year the altcoin price can increase back so I can sell my coins and I hope that I can make a big profit later. I think the price can increase higher and probably, the price can get a pump from some dev because their coin is down to deep and they want to make a new price now.

I apply the principle of flexibility in holding altcoins. Indeed I have a standard time until when I will hold my crypto currency coin. Tokens received from the bounty of the companies I sell almost everything at once. With this market, they only fall in price. Then I bite my elbows when they grow in price 10 times. Although there are coins with bounty companies in the wallet, which I have been holding for quite a long time.  And altcoins, which I bought myself I keep for a very long time. It just doesn't make sense to sell them with a minimum income.

I divide them into 3 pieces, First big peace is my long term investment which i mean years it about %60 of my total investment and %20 for some months, and at lease I have %20 for short term investments for daily trade.

The best solution for you is to keep the purchased coins for 1-2 years. Then you will become rich with great confidence. The main thing is to choose good coins from the top 10-20.

I have held back the coin that I have for more than six months and I think it's very terrible because I can't enjoy the movement of other coins because all the assets that I have are trapped in the coin, for now I prefer to take advantage of the small movements can provide benefits every day.

It's a shame the market hasn't become green as we hoped it would. We need it sooner, but you're right, we should be patient and wait for 6 months. I will hodl my coins until their target value I set. I hope this mark will be reached next year at least.

Somehow their value will grow automatically in the last quarter this is how it is happening every year. So I strongly believe in this. I am holding my bitcoin for almost 11months now but it seems that my coins doesn't show any development, in fact it decrease already to 70% and I don't know if it can still recover. I will just wait until december of this year and if nothing happens i will withdraw it and will stop doing investment here.

There is no guarantee when the market will fully recover, but we can try to improve our money by doing trading. I think the decision to stop from the crypto is not a right decision because you can hold it until the next year while you can try to search for a profit. I think we don't need to predict how long we should hold but looking forward for how long will this or that project be profitable for the holders, some coins can still be same as they are in the next 3 years but most will actually triple their recent price while some are going to die off on the long run. Same, I did invest in projects that could get mass adopted one day and have a great future. 3 years should be a minimum for a development of good project and it's use case, and safe and steady is a way to go. Even though market isn't in good state right now, I do believe that price movement of good projects might be completely opposite of overall market movement. Especially if there is a real use case and people do have a reason to buy their tokens on market. I'm in it for a long term, so I'm just being patient here and trying to accumulate as much as I can.

It depends on how the team manage the project. As a holder of their token/coin my duty is to always monitor the project development news updates. If there is no progress no reason to hold on. This, I know will take time to materialise especially when you project the future price of the coin you are holding from its current price. For me, I am looking at holding for at least a period of 5 years, minimum. But if it favours earlier than the projected holding period, then its all good.

When i started to investing altcoins i think i need tohold 3 5 months  but after that huge bear market i think i have to hold at least 1 or 2 years or more.
