Title: Paypal Q
Post by: jj8000 on August 07, 2011, 05:28:18 PM
Just scanning over quickly the noob topics, and looks like due to chargebacks, paypal is bad.  But what about mass pay with paypal, is it paypal in general or just paypal with credit cards that is bad?

Paypal's terms and conditions forbid buying and selling virtual currency.
Any use of paypal for bitcoin has a high risk of taking a loss or getting your account closed.

Ok, what would be the next best method, ideally one that can be funded quickly.

How would paypal even find out to freeze your account?  Do account freezes only happen during disputes, or does paypal actually have a way of knowing when bitcoins are being exchanged?

If you tried to buy Bitcoin from a website, when they went on their crusade you either got your account frozen, or your personal phone and work phone were called for information about what you've been purchasing.  There has been anecdotal information throughout the forums that if you purchase bitcoin from somebody, and it eventually gets out they were a bitcoin seller, you may have to deal with telephone calls.

Paypal is not recommended but if you plan just to transfer small amounts it's worth the risk I think.

FYI a Gift Card is a virtual currency. Paypal is hypocritical.

It's a physical card.
I render your argument invalid.
