We have decided that we need a new logo for Worldcoin that is simple but looks good.  We want something in the style of the Bitcoin, Namecoin, Primecoin, and Megacoin logos.

I will be offering $250 in BTC to the designer of the best logo we receive.  You can post your logos here or PM them to me and I will look over them with the members of the Worldcoin Foundation to determine which one will be the best to represent Worldcoin.

EDIT: We also need the designs to look good scaled down.  For example, if you go on coinmarketcap.com, the current WDC logo looks very bad in the 16p x 16p format.  When you respond with your designs, provide the standard sized image as well as a 16p x 16p version.

EDIT 2: Plan on having your designs completed by December 7th.  That is around the time that we will start looking at them.

I've forwarded details to a friend of mine who's designing logos etc in his day job.
He did one for me as well and it definitely fits the "simple but looks good" kind of thing

I am a web developer and logo designer. I know how important it is to have a logo that works in all sizes, including the small favicon format.

This is what I've made:

What am I looking at?
This is a logo that takes a style similar to the ones used for the Bitcoin, Litecoin and Namecoin. I decided to use the cyan/blue colour style you already use on the current worldcoinfoundation.org logo, because it fits the 'world' theme.
The logo takes the shape of a circular coin, with a shiny blue border and the face of the coin being a 'world' emphasized with latitudes and longitudes.
The white 'W' follows the lat/long lines, but also, this kind of bold sans-serif font emphasizes the fierceness of the coin. This logo is instantly identifiable  between all other coin logos that exist to date, while being familiar to anyone seeing other cryptocurrencies before.

Since my last post, half a day has gone by and finally the Bitcointalk forum is back up.

The "W" and how it looks like a stick figure is creative +1.

 I like the combination of this color dark/gray its easy in the eye, do you think you can come up with a different combination of colors? the blue one is just too blue.  

Maybe green and blue (earthly feel)? or maybe just blue period but not as bright

 look at the www.worldcoinfoundation.org maybe similar to that kind of blue, not as bright.

There are quite some amazing logos in here. However, I do wonder why among so many contributions, there are only a few that submit a 16x16 pixel version of their logo, which is clearly asked for in the first post. This 16x16 format is not an arbitrary size, since it is the size of the icon a web-site will show on the tab in the browser. So supplying 20x20 or 32x32 logos won't tell us how they'll look in the end!

I hope to see some more amazing logos, especially ones that are also working in small sizes.

Some great looking logos are appearing on this thread for the new worldcoin logo. I am really looking forward to seeing what you choose! Here are a couple we made .. we tried to make something in the same style as the ones mentioned but we are not graphic designers .. we are 3d animators but can make some 2d things look ok-ish!. We could 3d animate a coin for you but who wants that really .. nobody! We did make a few coins .. shoot hem down asap!

Here some simple ideas for Worldcoin. I think that the logo would be as simple as bitcoin and litecoin are. Of course, There are a lot of possibilities with them (put them in negative in a circle, for example) but I think it would be better if I can show my ideas as simple as I can because most of the time you will not be able to use gradients and textures in your logo usage (for example in physical coins or other merchandise). Hope you like it

Here are my ideas for a logo, I tried to keep with the flat style of the other coins mentioned.

I could post a hundred different color combinations, but I found that keeping the map overlay a light accent makes for the best resizability because as it gets smaller the map just disappears.
