Title: Avast "Web Shield" interfering with Electrum connection
Post by: pickymeek on November 30, 2013, 09:23:51 PM
I've tried adding the port (50002) to the Avast exclustion list that is listed next to the servers in the "Network" settings but it doesn't seem to help. When I completely disable the Web Shield Electrum connects just fine. Are there other ports I should be adding to the exclusion list or is it something else altogether?

I think you will also need to allow destination ports 80 and 110.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I re-enabled the Web Shield and restarted Electrum without adding anything to the exclusions just to make sure that this was my problem and it worked fine... So maybe it wasn't the Web Shield. If it happens again I'll add those ports and see if that fixes it without completely disabling the feature.

Thanks, to you both for the suggestions.
