Title: Binary message in one of LTC's richest addresses? Post by: tacotime on December 01, 2013, 03:46:27 AM Address: LTpYZG19YmfvY2bBDYtCKpunVRw7nVgRHW (http://ltc.block-explorer.com/address/LTpYZG19YmfvY2bBDYtCKpunVRw7nVgRHW)
This litecoin address contains the following transmitted on 2013-04-02 as bytes following the mantissa of a number of transactions slightly more than 1 in value: Code: 01100010 It's very clearly ASCII text, because if you convert it you get: Code: bridr eee!slsakp ieantdl ums It appears they used a script to upload all transactions at exactly the same time, which makes ordering the ASCII letters difficult. Can anyone decipher this message? Title: Re: Binary message in one of LTC's largest addresses? Post by: FalconFour on December 01, 2013, 04:05:04 AM A treasure hunt! ^_^ Well played, in the values of the transactions. Since zeroes get knocked off the end, I padded the values with zeroes to get this. Definitely meant to be ASCII text, but I think because the transactions came through at the same time - as you found - the letters get scrambled.
It looks like the big block of deposits was a batch of all the "letters" being refunded. Below, they're broken down into three distinct segments, at different times. We can assume these are groups to be unscrambled on their own. Code: 01110101 Which translates to: Code: ue ben!eaakd rm Probably just mashing the keyboard or playing with a script :P Title: Re: Binary message in one of LTC's largest addresses? Not quite right - but is looking closer to a possible message. :) Title: Re: Binary message in one of LTC's richest addresses?
