Title: Bitcoinera.net is a SCAM
Post by: matounet on December 02, 2013, 01:11:36 AM
Hello Everybody,
I'm newbie here, and in bitcoin to (a few months)
I want to tell my story to avoide other people make the same mistake that me.
At the end of october i've placed about 4 bitcoins in bitcoinera.net and at the beginning of november i had the 6% they promise.
So I decided to withdraw all. No problem my 4BTC and a few came in my multibit wallet. I was very happy.
So at the end of november, after a few investments I had nearly 6 bitcoins.
I decided to replace them in bitcoinera to touch 6%
the 30th of november I had my 6% in my wallet and so more than 6 BTC
So I decided to withdraw them to invest like the past month...
But I can't!!!
The only thing I have after I do the withdrawal is a blank page, and my bitcoinera wallet full
but nothing in my multibit wallet.
I contacted them with their contact system but no answer.
Bitcoinera is a scam, so don't use it.

Thanks for the warning but you should really be more careful. I highly recommend you do a quick Google search before you do anything with BTC, a quick search can go a long way.

How i love when people put some money into a "xxxx scheme" and wait for somebody to miraculously give them back more.
You were lucky to get your first investment back , so you decided to get more...greed failed on you

6% monthly return lol?
All these kind of HYIP (high-yield investment program) will eventually go to scam.
It is just not possible for the owner to provide that kind of return.
Please be more careful next time :)

6% is nothing I know, I had done 50 % benefits (in bitcoin) in one month.
My "greedyness" kicked my ass lol
The worst is that when the first time I got my bitcoin back, I told me that I was lucky
and I should not do this again...
That's life...

The problem with these clear cut claims is that even KnCMiner was considered to be a scam.

Now that KnC has their 2nd gen equipment open to the public for pre-order, cointerra will be having competition as to hardware sales.

Ill confirm the OP myself,

Had a small amount invested the past couple months and was able to freely withdraw up until Dec.  I get the same thing, you can make it to the first step of the with draw, then a refresh to a blank .php page.  Ive attempted to contact support a couple times now with no response.  In the past, they were fast to respond to a question I had, so this whole thing had of blown up only recently.

Stay away from there!

I think the two situations are different.

When you compare one asset to another asset, it is not that rare to see some "crazy" appreciation.
eg 1. stock price (in fiat) could go up/down 10% a day easily
eg 2. silver price (in USD) could go up/down 10% a day occasionally

But the Bitcoinera case is not like that.
You deposit BTC, and you get 6% more BTC next month. Even if BTC price goes up, it only makes the owner more difficult to repay.

As always, be extra careful for all those "too good to be true" deals.
It is just impossible for the site to keep up the payment with 6% a month.

It amazes me you follow the Block Chain on the deposit address you get a wallet that has more than 4 hundred thousand Dollars in BTC.

Thanks for the heads-up!
First thing to do as a precaution would be to do a google search including the site name + review/scam.
Remember though there's always a risk even with sites labeled as "legit".

Thanks for the heads up.....ALL should beware

I had a similar issue very recently.  It was not an investment opportunity but with a mixing service I am trying to get my coins back from and having quite the time.  Check it out here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=453671.0

The website is called bitlaunder.com.

It certainly sounds like bitcoinera.net is going on the growing list of scam sites out there.

Please keep us posted as to the outcome.  Since cryptocurrencies are still in their infancy, we as a community need to look out for each other and keep each other posted on any pitfalls that may exist or that we encounter.

Sorry for your loss......

You live and learn I guess.
£1300.
First, a message saying, cant connect to Bitcoin server, then, later, incorrect user name and password.
I checked the wallet address on Blockchain  - Final balance ZERO!!!
