Title: Weird Bitcoin 7 volume.
Post by: Bitcoin Swami on August 08, 2011, 01:55:29 AM
4000 bitcoins sold recently?

Must be an error?

It's pretty clear b7 has been manipulating their volume to keep themselves at the top of the exchange list on bitcoincharts.  It's clear from their bid/offer and intraday trading though that their liquidity is very poor and inconsistent with reported volumes.

Shady tactics and all the more reason to avoid them IMO.

Yeah, it's not like there is mass amounts of stolen Bitcoin out there that I bet people wish was not digital currency right now or anything and thus going to be seeing some of the markets, if not all of them, through the next month.

Thanks for posting this. I noticed the big volume and wondered if the Polish traders moved or the theives or if it was worth checking out myself. I imagine this shady tactic will work. I hope Bitcoincharts (is that S3052?) reads this. If true, B7 should suffer to discourage followers. Search engines must do this as well to preserve the integrity of their indices, if we need precedent.

BTW, I've been using Ruxum. Beautiful interface, but light volume. It's very worthy of a look-see.

That kind of volume seems like it would have big effects on a little exchange like bitcoin 7.  but the price really didn't budge.

I also noticed that transaction

03:59:18p <iPiG-M> (b7) 4343.2423 @ 8.25 ($35,832) (USD)

It could be just one person moving their own coins around. 4k+ is a lot, but it's not the most i've seen in one shot.

Small exchanges can have their +/-whole volume come & go.
